Decided to try out this hotel on my stay in Chicago. First, i had no idea there was a renovation going on until just a few days before my stay. The entrance, lobby, lobby bar, lobby restaurant are under construction, with the temporary space totally unsuitable. The residential floors are also going under renovation, as is the exterior of the... More

Unless you love a dingy low ceilinged lobby, endless waits to have the phone answered, construction noise at 8:34pm, room service that ends at 9pm and a room that smells like Sherwin Williams. Wow. They've gone out of their way to make it suck. Worst news is the renovated rooms are just barely nicer than before but with less lighting.... More

Just checked in. Spent a lot of time before today e mailing the hotel asking for consideration for a king bed and possible lake view upgrade for my husbands birthday. Upon checking in I was told all the lake view rooms were sold out. Fine. After I remembered I had an email from the hotel stating the would request an... More

We stayed here last Spring for 4 days. The view of the lake and Navy Pier were awesome. The staff was professional and friendly. Gave us info on were to eat and what to experience on our first trip to Chicago. We had a pluming issue in our room and they switched our room righty away. Now this is not... More

We were surprised to find the hotel under renovation when we arrived for a one night stay. Our newly renovated suite was very nice and had a spectacular lake view and the staff did their best to service our needs despite the construction chaos.

We recent stayed here for an event we had the weekend. The hotel is currently being remodeled. The lobby was pretty far from the entrance and it was very congested trying to get to the check in desk. Once we arrived to the check in table (since there is no lobby currently) it was chaos. We booked thru our booking... More

Went to a conference in Chicago. Decided to do the W again. A little concerned when I checked in to see construction. It rooks 20 minutes to check in, but a dance team showed up before we got there. Newly renovated room was awesome. I love watching the lake at sunrise. It looks great. We used room service for the... More

This was our first time at a W and my husband, 2 kids and I absolutely enjoyed our stay. Even though the hotel is under construction our kids absolutely loved the vibrant room. We stayed in a "Wonderful Room" which had a really nice modern decor. Even though the walkway from the entrance of the room was a bit narrow... More

We had an extra day after attending a wedding and wanted to stay in a nice hotel, close to activities. The location was the only thing positive about the W. It is under construction, which was not noted on the website, or when we made the reservation. However, the construction was only part of the hotel's downfalls. Arriving, parking attendants... More

What a shambles! Not only was it difficult to find the temporary reception, the whole place felt like a construction zone. I was put in a renovated room, which was ok. But after one night of listening to the air conditioner, which was as loud as sitting on the Tarmac at O'Hare, I checked out. Not a great location. Disappointed.... More
