Lobby is beautiful but it seems that appearance is where money was spent instead of functionality. Outdated room accessories - iPhone charger was for iPhone 3. Lights in the bathroom did not work. I had to remove the panel on my nightstand to get to light switch to turn on lamp. Only 1 robe available for each room. Internet was... More

This hotel was great! We were able to walk to the Navy Pier, Millinium Park and Maggie Daily Park. The walk was great, you felt so safe. So nice to be in such a great city with wonderful family. My son loved the pool and we watched the fireworks right from the hotel. I would go back in a second.

Wonderful place to stay if you want to be close to all of the things going on at Navy Pier and downtown. Trendy and fun atmosphere, excellent service, beautiful rooms, lobby, and even the hallways were unique and modern. CLEAN rooms, fluffy beds, safe, mini-frig, very nice inside pool, terrific workout area and spa.. If you like fireworks over the... More

‎I try to get out to chicago a couple times a year and when I do I stay here!! The staff is always friendly and very accommodating to a fault. Lara and her brother at the lobby bar are FANTASTIC!! Lara is a pistol! She's quick, witty and very charming. She can offer up suggestions on drinks and all types... More

Trendy hotel located near Lake Michigan. Enter valet entrance and you arrive in the loud and hip bar scene. Requested room with view of Lake Michigan, though not on high floor so could hear street traffic. AC is either full blast or doesn't go on at all. Bathroom trendy as well although tub had chipped enamel in several spots. Tub... More

We used the W-Lakeshore as a room block for your August 8, 2015 wedding weekend, and we are very glad that we did. Erwin Paderanga was our coordinator, and he was always so prompt to help with questions or reservation changes I had. They made it all relatively easy with their room block login page to keep track of who... More

On the paper it looks like a perfect location (actually quite average, with plenty of better choices in more lively, fancy, trendy or cool places), in a trendy hotel (only element of 'trendy' is very noisy lobby where check in personnel keeps repeating everything) with cool staff - well, if 'cool' stands for untrained, unprofessional and inefficient, then W staff... We stayed one night at this hotel. Lots of confusion at the entrance, with cars coming and going in both directions. There was 1 person at the reception desk and not really a big enough space for people to form an organized line. No brochures, etc. for things to do or restaurants, etc. No gift shop in case you forgot... More

Very simple: A great location, very clean and modern, our room was quiet, the bar / lounge was nice, food was good, and my interaction with the staff was great (check-in, check-out, and taxi service). Everything was great. If you have a chance, try to select lake-view rather than city-view, as the city-view is very limited by surrounding buildings. This... More

My husband made a reservation for our 20th anniversary and they overbooked our room. The staff did not care about us as clients and made no effort to solve their issue. I have been to hundreds hotels and have never seen such attitude. DO NOT STAY AT THAT HOTEL if you are not a white male over 50 with a... More

Staying in Streeterville

Neighborhood Profile
Streeterville
Streeterville is where visitors head for play at Navy Pier, a pseudo amusement park and development of restaurants, shops, rides, and other activities. You’ll find lots of action and excitement on the docks. Along the pier, you’ll see the statue of the captain for whom Streeterville is named. While you enjoy your fair share of sightseeing at the pier, you can also visit other popular attractions there such as the Chicago Children’s Museum and the Chicago Shakespeare Theater. Off the pier you’ll find more restaurants from low-cost pubs to high-end establishments. Arts and culture aficionados should be sure not to miss the Museum of Contemporary Art.
