The staff was very courteous and helpful throughout our 2 day stay. The lake view is beautiful in the morning as the sun rises. We watched the fireworks at Navy Pier from our room on Wednesday night. Great location next to the lake and jogging path and just a few blocks from Michigan Avenue. However, the great service continued after... More

It was my first visit to Chicago city and took my father. Fabulous location and great stay at hotel. We stayed in a corner suite, on 29th floor; very comfortable bed room ,hall and 11/2 baths with fabulous water view from both hall n bedroom. This was pretty good for a family. Pretty close to Navy Pier, and other attractions...... More

Our room was REALLY small for what we paid (though we were in Chicago, and right off LSD, so I *get* it) .... it was a foggy day but I'm sure the view would have been incredible had we been able to see anything (obv not the hotel's fault!) This place was super modern, beds were fairly comfortable, staff was... More

We arrived on Friday night of the Memorial Day weekend with dance music blaring from the main entrance. Our party consisted of my 70 year old mother, two 40 something ladies and my 5 year old son. We didn't get the luck of having a room facing Lake Michigan but it was fun to look at the buildings when the... More

This W has one of the best locations with great view of the lake and splendid views of Navy Pier. You could walk to Navy Pier and to a lot of local attractions such as the Magnificent Mile. The decor is pretty cool and hip. Over the Memorial Day weekend I decided to try this property as a local. It... More

I stayed for 3 nights over the Memorial Day weekend for a wedding at the hotel and was very impressed by the service of the hotel. The staff was helpful and upgraded us to the lake view room. The gym was a highlight for me. Lots of equipment and never was too packed. Lots of extras, apples, cold towels, bliss... More

Rooms are comfortable. Staff are friendly and helpful. The gym and the pool were not impressive. But the Location is great. Valet Parking is $65 a day (with in and out access) or you can park right next door for $37 a day (no in and out)

The W was a very nice hotel with very comfortable rooms and a lovely location. It is right on the Lake, though slightly longer walk to Michigan Avenue and shopping but worth it. The negatives were that free Internet was only offered in the lobby. It is annoying that large hotels still want to charge when almost all small hotels,... More

A very nice hotel in a great location. Enjoyed the indoor pool and restaurant and proximity to everything. Walking distance to the museum, restaurants, the John Hancock building and much more. I'd say if you're looking for a great place to stay during your Chicago visit, stay at the W.

The W Lakeshore is literally on Lake Michigan. It is steps from Navy Pier and a short walk to Michigan Avenue and City Center. If you get a room facing Lakeshore Drive you will have a beautiful view of the water and the "play pen" which is where all of the boats come to play during the summer! The rooms... More

Staying in Streeterville

Neighborhood Profile
Streeterville
Streeterville is where visitors head for play at Navy Pier, a pseudo amusement park and development of restaurants, shops, rides, and other activities. You’ll find lots of action and excitement on the docks. Along the pier, you’ll see the statue of the captain for whom Streeterville is named. While you enjoy your fair share of sightseeing at the pier, you can also visit other popular attractions there such as the Chicago Children’s Museum and the Chicago Shakespeare Theater. Off the pier you’ll find more restaurants from low-cost pubs to high-end establishments. Arts and culture aficionados should be sure not to miss the Museum of Contemporary Art.
