Truly one of the best places we have stayed. Accommodations were first rate. We received outstanding service at check in, from the concierge and maid service, and bellhops. I highly recommend this fine hotel

We stayed for 4 days in the city. Had large suite with 2 bathrooms, and sitting area. Quiet, clean but older furnishings that were worn. Comfortable bed and cozy lounge. Perfect location for shopping, restaurants and lake. Easy to get to museums and stadium. Wonderful, attentive staff. Would return.

We stay here over and over and they never disappoint!!!! Everything is top notch. The Japanese restaurant is amazing and the breakfast in the main dining area is hard to beat. The Bar is also great in the fall and winter and the roof top bar is one of the best in the city in the spring, summer and fall.

Very elegant and in a perfect downtown location. But most amazing: its food! everything I tasted, breakfast, lunch and dinner was of an exceptional quality! We had a dinner at the terrace, nice view and gorgeous asian food.

This is a first class hotel with staff to match. The only problem that I had (someone had been smoking in the room to which I was assigned) was rapidly rectified by the manager with an upgrade. (The first room was perfect...except for the previous guest...). Luxurious rooms, beds, bathrooms, views. Ate dinner in the bar: excellent food. Not cheap.... More

What a hotel, from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave you are made to feel like family. The rooms are large, very comfortable with all the amenities one could need, the food throughout the hotel delicious and the service, the service is phenomenal. Very luxurious and beautiful hotel. Rooms are well planned and details are amazing. Someone really thought about every detail for guest comfort. The central control panel was great and made it easy to control lights in the entire suite including romantic mode. Great customer service and they tidy up your room even put a bow on your wires so remember... More

Quiet and luxurious rooms, great staff, and close access to Oak Street and Michigan Avenue shopping. This hotel is one of the best in the US and our favorite in Chicago. Easy to use climate control settings make it a breeze to be comfortable in your room.

Highly recommend the Peninsula Chicago Hotel. Just off Michigan Ave. with lots of shopping and great restaurants. Staff are superb. Helpful without being overbearing. Visits to museums and Millennium Park are a short cab ride (or healthy walk) away. Try Hugo's Frog Bar for great (but expensive) seafood.

Staying in Magnificent Mile

Neighborhood Profile
Magnificent Mile
Over 400 stores pack the concrete along Michigan Avenue, the eight-block stretch known as Magnificent Mile. This area between Oak Avenue and the Chicago River is more a shopping paradise than a full-out neighborhood. For prime upscale shopping, this is the place to go. It’s busy, energetic, and packed with shoppers. You'll also find hundreds of restaurants and dozens of hotels, all on the mid- to high-end scale. Some of the city’s most iconic buildings like the Wrigley Building, John Hancock Center and other architectural marvels define the magnificence of this neighborhood.
