My family and I are back from a fabulous stay at the Waldorf Astoria Chicago. We vacationed in Chicago over the 4th of July holiday- and we could not have chosen a better hotel to reside at. Like many of the other reviewers here on Trip Advisor- when vacationing in Chicago, the Waldorf Astoria Chicago will now be our new... More

Spent a long weekend and while the accomdations are lovely the follow through by the staff was mixed at best. Repeated requests for service plus intoxicated people running through the hallway at midnight was not what we envisioned at this class of hotel. Spa nice but not as nice as other - back to the Ritz for our next visit... More

What a great place! My wife and I needed to get away for a couple of days and we couldn't have picked a better place. The service was outstanding (whenever we asked for something it was in our hand within seconds) and the rooms are over the top. We had the Waldorf Suite which was spacious and had a gorgeous... The best hotel I've ever visited! I have asthma. Even before we had arrived the front desk manager had been in touch to ensure a non-scent environment, and the hotel's concierge had emailed responses to all my inquiries about transportation, and restaurants in the Chicago area. Great location. Quiet hotel. Staff were uniformly wonderful. We were upgraded to a suite... More

I really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. They upgraded us upon checking in (the hotel is mostly suites) to a suite and our bathroom was very large and luxurious. The room itself was also very comfortable and nice. I like this location a lot for walking around and dining our way through the city! The hotel bar was really... More

I flew to Chicago after an overnight stay at the London Renaissance Heathrow, which was probably one of my worst hotel experiences in recent memory (read my review for some laughs). So, I was just itching for a stay at the Waldorf with some real luxury and relaxation. My expectations were high and I'm happy to say, easily met. I... More

Our stay here was excellent. I am a Hilton Diamond member, so my experience with Hiltons is pretty extensive. Overall, the program is the best around (in my opinion), but a lot of the Hiltons are showing their age, and some of the older Waldorf properties are not 5 or 6* material (compared to Four Seasons, etc.). HOWEVER, this hotel... More

I was very happy with the Waldorf Chicago. An overall great hotel in an awesome location - walking distance from the John Hancock Building and upscale Michigan Avenue shopping. If you're interested in participating in any of the Double Decker bus tours, they have a stop at the John Hancock building, which is quite convenient. There are too many restaurants... More

Upon arrival we were informed that our room was not ready..( after numerous phone calls in advance requesting an early check in) The very young, and what appeared limited in number of personal, were willing to take our luggage, and we could wait!! Staying in Gold Coast

Neighborhood Profile
Gold Coast
Located just north of The Loop, Gold Coast is one of Chicago’s most affluent and popular neighborhoods. The original Playboy, Hugh Hefner, once had a mansion here. In addition to prestigious hotels, historic mansions and luxury high-rise apartments, you’ll also find upscale specialty boutiques and Michelin-starred restaurants. Walk along Oak Street for your shopping fix and dance through the night along Rush Street. The Newberry Library is also a great stop to check out noteworthy exhibits and rare book collections.
