This was the only hotel my wife and I could find downtown that was around the $200 night mark. The hotel was extremely clean on the inside. Out room was small but had a king size mattress, walk in shower and the normal amenities. Wifi service on the 7th floor could have been stronger and faster. Use a AAA card... More

Very clean and updated. Nothing fancy, but practical. We had a large group and multiple rooms. None of our rooms were together, but we were not there very much so it did not matter. Apparently when booking through a 3rd party, you need to call the hotel directly to request rooms together. Pool is very small, but nicely heated and... More

The front desk staff was extremely disorganized upon check in. We had 3 rooms reserved, as we were with a wedding group. First we were told it would be tricky for all of us to be near each other, let alone even on the same floor. It took a while to finally get the room keys and after getting the... More

This hotel was a pleasant surprise for me; the only reason I didn't give it five stars was because it wasn't a luxury hotel. I reserved a room for disabled persons, which was what was available, and I found it quite spacious and clean, with a separate "living room" area that had its own TV (in addition to another TV... I come to Chicago twice a year 4 business everything else was sold out except for this hotel I would tell you if you remember hotels from the 1990s this is it that is not to say it is a bad hotel it's just very basic actually there's something very refreshing about having just the essentials. It's also the first... More

it was ok for a downtown hotel i was able to get in and out of the city quickly espcy with an airport express but for those not familiar with downtown chicago after dark it is better to stay close or know where you are heading but during the day it was very good location for doing what I wanted... I like to stay at this La Quinta because it's clean and a newer hotel. There is an Argo tea shop next door and a Giordano's Pizza about 3 blocks away and there's lots of things to do in this area without going downtown. Get to know a dif. area every time you come! Lots of great restaurants and shopping... More

Rooms are comfortable and clean and rooms are quiet. Price is right and the staff is outstanding. Excellent location in the Loop of Chicago. Close to everything. Only complaint is the high price of parking. However, parking in any major city is pricy. Parking for this great hotel is right next door and has easy access in and out.

I guess for the price relative to other Downtown Chicago hotels this place is OK. But it wasn't great. To start with, we set up late arrival. Got there at nearly midnight. They gave us a room key and we went on our way. Unfortunately, the people already in the room they sent us to were none to pleased that... More

Staying in Downtown / The Loop

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown / The Loop
Often visitors' first stop in Chicago, The Loop is a good starting point to sample the city's energy and flavor. This central business district boasts Michelin-rated restaurants, upscale hotels, premier shopping, and enough arresting architecture to keep your camera busy for hours. You won’t find too many photo galleries of downtown Chicago without a shot of Millennium Park and Cloud Gate (“The Bean”), one of the most iconic landmarks in the city. A stunning skyline coupled with cultural attractions like the Art Institute of Chicago present a Downtown where work and play peacefully coexist.
