Wow! What a nice surprise. Admittedly, I was not expecting much from the La Quinta. However, this property has clearly positioned itself to compete with higher end hotels downtown. The rooms were spacious and spotless. The TV was great and the microwave and refrigerator in the room were convenient. The hotel is located in the financial district. This is a... More

This is my second stay at La Quinta downtown Chicago. This visit is just a wonderful as the first. Large, beautiful room and bathroom, mini frig, microwave, and Keurig. The desk must be 10 feet long so plenty of space to work. Breakfast is included and features make your own waffles and a hot entree prepared by a delightful women... More

Hotel has daily continental breakfasts to start you day located in a convenient location near popular attractions. Very friendly staff and nice clean rooms well decorated. Bellmen were very professional and helpful in getting you a taxi.

Stayed her with some friends on business. I was a little scared when I read some of the reviews, but it was really a nice hotel. It's an older Hotel, which I like because it really represents Chicago culture. The staff was excellent, also smiling and also helpful! I could not figure out the coffee maker, but room service came... More

Friendly staff and very clean. I stayed here for a conference and my room was very clean when I came back every night. The hotel is located one block away from the Willis Tower and there is transportation right in the corner.

I initially came here for a business visit for 3 weeks, however it got extended for 2 months, the Manager David and the Sales person Ta'Vis were very kind enough for blocking the room every time I extended and gave me a fair deal because I stayed for 55 days. The hotel staff, especially the house keepers and the ladies... More

The hotel is fine it lacks a restaurant and Bar. The furnishings are old, and my room was dark due to a lack of natural light, and not enough man made lighting, The bathroom was ok. But the whole place need to be remodeled The employees though are excellent. They make it all ok

Not a great experience. Marginal area of downtown ... a long walk from everything central, tacky design ... faux wood paneling on the room doors ... (looks like Motel 6) ... bathroom amenities completely subpar ... garish orange motif throughout the facility. To top it off, I was given handicap room with bathroom that looked like a hospital. Yes, I... More

Best locale if you're traveling via train or attending the Lyric Opera/Chicago but centrally located near all loop activities. BEST night's sleep - beds/pillows are better than anywhere else I've stayed. Staff is fantastic and the hotel super clean.

Staying in Downtown / The Loop

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown / The Loop
Often visitors' first stop in Chicago, The Loop is a good starting point to sample the city's energy and flavor. This central business district boasts Michelin-rated restaurants, upscale hotels, premier shopping, and enough arresting architecture to keep your camera busy for hours. You won’t find too many photo galleries of downtown Chicago without a shot of Millennium Park and Cloud Gate (“The Bean”), one of the most iconic landmarks in the city. A stunning skyline coupled with cultural attractions like the Art Institute of Chicago present a Downtown where work and play peacefully coexist.
