I am an older traveler. I've never stayed at a Hostel before but decided to try this one out. It's an older Hostel. My room was very clean. I was glad to see the laminate flooring instead of carpet in the room. I asked for and recieved an double near the bathroom. The room was very satisfactory except it would... More

I came there after 11:00 PM from Amtrak. My bunk was ready and clean there. I noticed they have new floor there. They have nice wash room and shower. I enjoyed breakfast in Greek restaurant. Breakfast was good. I would come back there again.

Excellent option to stay in Chicago, it is clean and the staff is kind and helpful, walking distance from downtown and the Blue line is like three minutes away from the hostel. I stayed in a dorm and it was comfortable and quite pleasant so you get to know other travelers. I would definitely stay here again.

Had a pleasant stay here. Is not in the centre of chicago but a 10-15 minute walk will get you there, so not bad at all. I had a single room, which had a nice comfy single bed, chest of drawers and a desk. Was a bit like staying in someone else's bedroom! Bathrooms were close by and seemed clean... More

First I would like to start off by saying , I didn't know what to expect with some of the reviews I read. My stay at the Parthenon was excellent , I stayed in a 8 person dorm room which wasn't bad it was only 3 of us in there. Lockers to lock personal things up. Tv room, kichten area... More

If you book through their website with a credit card, you get charged 10% deposit. You will receive an email. Both the email and website clearly state that if you cancel within 48 hours, you will be charged for 1 night. However, what is not stated in either but is practiced, if you do cancel outside of 48 hours, your... More

This hostel is very close to the Greyhound bus stop and in walking distance to The Loop and most attractions, including the Art Institute. This was great as I didn't need to spend any money on public transport! Overall the hostel is what you pay for, the staff are very friendly, the bathrooms are clean and there is a free... More

This hostel was in a good location, just 2 minutes walk from a metro station, 10 minutes walk from the Greyhound Station, and close to lots of restaurants and the Willis tower. The rooms and bathrooms were clean and kitchen facilities were good. This is a good family hostel I would say and, bunk-beds aside, felt more like a B&B.... More

I've been here 2 years ago in the middle of July. Everything was ok, the room was rather clean, next to bathroom, WI-FI connecion is ok. Our crew was glad about the hostel location. It's so close to Willis Tower and another nicest place of wonderful Chicago. By the way Parthenon locates next to one of Grayhound station. I reccomend... More

While this wasn't the best hostel I've ever stayed at, it was pretty damn good. We stayed in a private room... the bed was huge and comfortable, there was a good amount of bedding, the pillows were fantastic, the room was super clean and the heating worked. There was a funky kind of smell when we arrived but we just... More

Staying in West Loop

Neighborhood Profile
West Loop
Fulton Market, Randolph Market, Jackson Boulevard and Greek Town make up the West Loop. The neighborhood is best known as the location of Oprah Winfrey’s Harpo Studios, but this downtown neighborhood is also an up-and-coming spot for Chicago’s trendsetters. Several sub-neighborhoods within West Loop make this a unique neighborhood to visit. Dotted with factories and warehouses, West Loop is packed with various types of dining and nightlife options. If your timing is right, you can take part in neighborhood events like the West Loop Farmers Market, Craft Beer Fest, or the Randolph Street Market Festival.
