I stayed at the Parthenon for 2 nights July 2014. I chose to stay there because I took the Megabus to Chicago and wanted to stay near Union Station (where the bus drops you off) and I wanted to walk and not have to pay for other transportation. If you are taking a bus to Chicago and need a cheap... More

5 of us shared a private room with ensuite - towels provided and showers were hot which was awesome. place is in a great location for exploring downtown yet quiet for a good sleep. reception guy was friendly and helpful but otherwise very preoccupied with the world cup haha. be warned there is a looooong flight of stairs so abit... I'm fairly local. I took the Amtrak for a short solo trip to Chicago so didn't want to pay $200 for a hotel for just me. I stayed on a Wed on the main floor in a front/street side 6 girl dormer (114). Positives: linens and bathroom were clean. Showers worked and were hot (yay!). Towel rental was convenient and... More

The thought of sharing a room and bathroom with strangers never appealed to me but the thought of having this experience intrigued me. Plus, the price of the stay in the heart of Chicago was GREAT!! Yes, you have to take your bags up the steps to get to your rooms, so travel light. The front desk person was extremely... More

Myself and a friend stayed at the Chicago Parthenon Hostel for three nights recently and had a mixed experience. We stayed in a two-person private room, which was long but awkwardly narrow. The sheet on one of the beds was not clean when we arrived, but the beds were relatively comfortable. The room was air conditioned to a nice temperature... More

It wasn't the worst hostel we've stayed in nor the best. The room was tiny and the twin beds were about 6 inches apart because the room was really that narrow. There was hair in the blanket on the bed and the toilet stalls in the women's bathroom were a joke. The toilets are just a few inches from the... More

The room was fairly clean and the kitchen was right next door. There were five of us in the six bed suite and we didn't feel too crowded. The front desk people were really nice and check in/out was a breeze.

Is a very bad place to spend even one night! My two friends and I had a very bad experience about the room. It was not clean, a lot of hair in the blankets, the room is pretty cold at night. The owners really should take care of make it a better place for the next guests. The breakfast was... More

This hostel is very comfortable, the location is great, the subway is near , you have restaurant and blues bars a steps from the hostel. The breakfast makes you feel like you're staying in a hotel. The bedroom is a little odorous but you can sleep very well , and the bathroom is a small but you can have an... More

Took the private room, which was just a room with two beds, nothing more. The bathroom was shared anyway. It was clean however and the staff was very nice and helpful. Good breakfast that was included! No elevator which was a minus. Location is great, close to both downtown and the harbour as well as "subway" station. Good enough to... More
