I stayed on a Saturday night & my private room faced the street. The music in the bars was going until 3am & it was really noisey, so not much sleep. The staff behind the desk were friendly & helpful.

Nice place appears clean and quit. WI-FI didn't work worth a darn though laptop kept dropping it and reconnecting and it was extremely slow to the point or unusable. Other then that nice staff Did try the breakfast which was good. Had to leave early in the morning to make a train to St.louis. They have a drop off box... More

I stayed at the Parthenon for 2 nights July 2014. I chose to stay there because I took the Megabus to Chicago and wanted to stay near Union Station (where the bus drops you off) and I wanted to walk and not have to pay for other transportation. If you are taking a bus to Chicago and need a cheap... More

I'm fairly local. I took the Amtrak for a short solo trip to Chicago so didn't want to pay $200 for a hotel for just me. I stayed on a Wed on the main floor in a front/street side 6 girl dormer (114). Positives: linens and bathroom were clean. Showers worked and were hot (yay!). Towel rental was convenient and... More

The thought of sharing a room and bathroom with strangers never appealed to me but the thought of having this experience intrigued me. Plus, the price of the stay in the heart of Chicago was GREAT!! Yes, you have to take your bags up the steps to get to your rooms, so travel light. The front desk person was extremely... More

Myself and a friend stayed at the Chicago Parthenon Hostel for three nights recently and had a mixed experience. We stayed in a two-person private room, which was long but awkwardly narrow. The sheet on one of the beds was not clean when we arrived, but the beds were relatively comfortable. The room was air conditioned to a nice temperature... More

It wasn't the worst hostel we've stayed in nor the best. The room was tiny and the twin beds were about 6 inches apart because the room was really that narrow. There was hair in the blanket on the bed and the toilet stalls in the women's bathroom were a joke. The toilets are just a few inches from the... More

The room was fairly clean and the kitchen was right next door. There were five of us in the six bed suite and we didn't feel too crowded. The front desk people were really nice and check in/out was a breeze.

Is a very bad place to spend even one night! My two friends and I had a very bad experience about the room. It was not clean, a lot of hair in the blankets, the room is pretty cold at night. The owners really should take care of make it a better place for the next guests. The breakfast was... More
