Staff were all great and very friendly. However this is a business hotel and policies differ from other hotels. I think it's assumed most guests are going to business meetings with food served. At any rate there's no morning food served of any kind. It would have been nice to pick up a roll, a bowl of breakfast cereal or... More

The best location, all attractions in a walking distance, plenty places to have breakfast and lunch. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Reception staff are helpful with all city info. Union bus stop is in 20 min walking distance. The nearest metro is in 5 min walk.

I booked 2 rooms through hotwire but they messed up my name. It added "one" to the end of my name. Calling hotwire wouldn't get resolved. Finally, Karina of the front office did some digging and found the booking. It was a fully-booked night. Thanks. Also, the big guy (forgot his name) at the front desk was very friendly and... More

Nice hotel, central located, clean, very kind employers. good food in the restaurant/cafe. just below the lobby there are public computers and conference rooms free to use. easy to go around with the cheap taxi's, or with other public transportation. Just around the block is a cycle rental place, but know what your doing, the traffic is crazy there :)

Nice hotel, right price, perfectly located to visit Chicago. The room was not too big but very clean. The service is good. For the breakfast in the morning (not included as standard), but also to eat and drink something there is a pub located in the side of hotel linked by a door in the reception room. Advised.

I got an upgrade for 15 $, and was so much happy with the room, it was actually more or less a suite. fully equipped kitchenette, a relaxing sofa with large flat screen TV. and a very comfortable king size bed. Bed sheets and the towels in my room were as good as new. Housekeeping and reception's staff were nice... More

My husband and I stayed for two nights. We looked for a hotel that was centrally located to everything (especially the museums), had a reasonable price, and was quiet. We found just that at the Central Loop Hotel. We stayed in a Superior room. This room included a comfy queen sized bed, a kitchenette stocked with: silverware, plates, a mini... More

I would just like to say that this place was great. The decor, the ambiance, the central location, the Elephant & Castle pub next door, the downstairs amenities that make it simple to do just about anything work-related ... but the real gems are the people who work there. Justin, Bob, Lisa, Nick, Amy ... and whoever was manning the... More

We stayed here on Saturday night of St. Patty's weekend and weren't able to get much sleep at all. There were people going to their rooms at all hours of the night. Not the hotel's fault and there weren't any parties going on but the walls must be paper thin as we could hear any conversation in the halls at... More

Location is the highlight with this hotel. It really is in the center of the Loop and you can walk to anything. Which is good, because I recommend you leave your car behind if at all possible -- hotel valet parking is $53/day. The staff is very friendly, professional, and attentive. The Elephant & Castle pub on street level can... More

Staying in Downtown / The Loop

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown / The Loop
Often visitors' first stop in Chicago, The Loop is a good starting point to sample the city's energy and flavor. This central business district boasts Michelin-rated restaurants, upscale hotels, premier shopping, and enough arresting architecture to keep your camera busy for hours. You won’t find too many photo galleries of downtown Chicago without a shot of Millennium Park and Cloud Gate (“The Bean”), one of the most iconic landmarks in the city. A stunning skyline coupled with cultural attractions like the Art Institute of Chicago present a Downtown where work and play peacefully coexist.
