I was a little disappointed in the outward appearance of the hotel. The picture on the website made it appear more grand. The lobby was unremarkable and the furniture had seen much much better days. There were two people only at the small front desk and they seeemed rather stressed as the phones were ringing non-stop. The room was huge,... More

We stayed in the Fitzpatrick hotel in June of this year. We got a very warm Irish welcome when we arrived which lasted throughout our entire stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There was a good mix of Irish and American staff which was great. The hotels rooms are larger than what one would expect for a downtown... More

We stayed at the Fitzpatrick for two nights in a one bedroom suite. Our daughter slept on the sleeper sofa. Despite a few disappointments, we enjoyed the low key atmopshere and the location. It was great to avoid the crowds and traffic found near the larger hotels. This hotel is easy to reach by car (valet parking!), but everything is... More

I recently stayed at the Fitzpatrick Hotel in Chicago and my stay was great!! My husband was on business and I got to shop all day long and I could have not asked for a better location to be in. The hotel is wonderful and I fell in love with the canopied bed and window treatments. I will be sure... More

I made reservations with the Chicago Fitzpatrick using their 800 number for two nights in June. I received no written confirmation with cancelation policy, etc. However, when I attempted to cancel my reservation the morning of my first night's reservation, I was told that they would charge me for one nights stay. They have a "3pm THE DAY BEFORE your... More

This hotel takes the concept of a warm Irish welcome to a new level! The hotel is located steps from Michigan avenue and provides a five star, yet personal service to all customers. Having being recommended by two previous visitors I was more than impressed on arrival. I found the staff to be helpful and have a good knowledge of... More

I was stunned to read the recent review of The Fitzpatrick. My husband and I have been staying there for the last couple of years on a regular basis and just returned from a 2 night stay over Memorial Weekend. The rooms are large, spacious and the beds amazingly comfortable. We have met many Irish staff at the hotel and... More

This hotel is a shambles-furniture literally falling apart and a staff that is both rude and uninformed, nevermind the lack of security and the absence of the so-called amenities. The "fitness center" is an oversized closet! We were appalled during our stay! Truly anticipated "warm, Irish hospitality" and short of a barman, no one was Irish, warm or hospitable! Manager... The room was very nice size, with a comfortable queen bed. When we got to the room the chain on the toilet tank was broken, so I called the front desk, and the maintenance person showed up within 5 minutes and had it fixed. The hotel staff were very friendly and courteous. The elevators were quick and large, which is... More

We stayed for 3 nights in March 2005 and absolutely loved this hotel. It is just off Michigan so right in the heart of Chicago. There were 3 of us and we had a superb room on 23rd floor. One kingsize bed and a pull out sofa. We would especially like to thank the really helpful doorman (you will know... More
