This hostel made or trip experience amazing!!! The view was gorgeous. Perfect for any age especially teens. Very safe (you need a key for every doorway). The rooms were very modern and spacious and clean. This hostel was even better than a hotel- it has a game room, a breakfast buffet and is centered in the heart of downtown. Also... More

My friend & I from the UK have been travelling for 5 months and have stayed in all types of hostels, including HI/YHAs in Canada and Australia. This brand of hostel has always been very good, but the HI Chicago is the best we've stayed at. The dorm rooms are huge - ridiculously roomy floor space, to an extent that... More

Got there after we ran away from a sketchy motel, staff was super helpful, place is exceptionally clean, especially considering the price and crowd... Great breakfast too. Crowd is very young. And the location is absolutely perfect!

This without is probably the most impressive hostel I've ever stayed in. In a way, it's almost like staying in a communal hotel. The place is incredibly clean, with large rooms, large bathrooms and showers and kitchen areas. In addition to the main communal lounge, dinning room and kitchen, each floor has it's own smaller kitchen and fridge which is... More

I got a good deal using Hotwire and I was happy with my stay. Its normal price it is a little bit on the expensive side. The great thing about this hotel it is location: you are right on the Loop. It was a good experience overall.

Fantastic hostel stayed for 2 nights while visiting Chicago. You are smack bang in the tourist section of Chicago where everything is walking distance if you choose. The rooms were great in size and you had your own little dorm/ seating area which also includes your toilets and bathroom, if you didnt want to go to the big common areas.... More

Great location, helpful staff. Massive Hostel with lots of people. Breakfast has a good variety and facilities are unreal. Beds are more comfortable than my bed at home. Information desks has knowledge of all areas, most rooms have their own shower and toilet. Rooms are wide enough to not be living on top of each other. Only suggestion would be... More

This was the excellent hostel. Although there're many dorms in each room, the room was pretty big and clean. There's enough space for everyone to spread things out. The lobby and the community area were comfortable. There're some activities arranged by the hostel almost everyday, but I didn't take part in. There's the locker room that you can use for... More

Stayed here for 4 nights at the end of May. Had a private room which was in a dorm-style set up with 4 private (2 bed rooms) sharing a toilet, shower room, kitchen area and lounge. Worked really well, we felt comfortable leaving our bedroom door open and just hanging out in the suite. Room and suite was clean -... More

If you're 20, 30, 40 or 70, you are welcomed here. People of all ages and even families fill the common areas. The rooms are clean and cool, the bedding is fresh and toasty warm. They have thought of everything--lamps by the bedsides, lockers conveniently located, etc. They call the breakfast continental, but it's really complete--oatmeal, bagels, croissants and even... More
