Stayed a week at this hotel and found the staff to be helpful and the rooms are quite large and clean. Room service was relatively prompt and hygienic. I would stay here again because it's location makes it easy to access restaurants and tourist sites both north and south of the river. Also there's a convenient UPS center located at... More

We stayed 1 night after using an online bidding website (so we didn't exactly choose the hotel). First impression was bad - girl at front desk was outside on her phone, so we waited a good 5 mins for check in (it was after midnight). She did upgrade us to a suite, which was nice. Beautiful room with 2 bathrooms,... More

Short visit for our anniversary. Very friendly and competent staff. Reasonable price for upgrade with fantastic view of lake and Navy Pier. Nice surprise of champagne and chocolate covered strawbs when we returned from day out walking thru this beautiful city. Strongly recommend Millenium Park with the amazing Bean, Ghery designed Pritzker Pavillion, Crown Fountain, and adjacent gardens. All great... More

Stayed here again for July Holiday weekend. Everything was wonderful from the front desk staff to the Concierge. Stayed in a corner suite with views of the Lake and the River with Navy Pier in the middle. Room was spacious and exceptionally clean.

We stayed here in July, 2011 for 3 nights. The location is great. It is right downtown, near the lake, the river, the mag mile, navey pier etc. We were able to walk just about everywhere we went. The views can be stunning depending on where the room is located within the hotel. The bed was so comfortable and the... More

This hotel is in a prime location. You are a few blocks from the Magnificent Mile and the theater district. The river and the lake are literally "right there". You have a great view of Navy Pier. The rooms are beautiful. The beds and pillows are dreamy. Our bathroom was nice, but not immaculate. This hotel offers everything you may... More

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. We had a room with an amazing view of the Chicago River. Really, the location couldn't have been much better: short walk to Michigan Avenue, the ticket booth/pier for the Chicago Architecture Foundation river cruises, and a number of "iconic" restaurants. The bedroom itself was very clean (and free of bedbugs, which, alas,... More

I stayed at this hotel for a conference. When I arrived at the hotel, the line to check in was almost to the entrance. I waited about 20 minutes. There were two people working at the front desk on the first day of check in for a major conference. During my stay, my coffee maker stopped working. It took two... More

Staying in Downtown / The Loop

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown / The Loop
Often visitors' first stop in Chicago, The Loop is a good starting point to sample the city's energy and flavor. This central business district boasts Michelin-rated restaurants, upscale hotels, premier shopping, and enough arresting architecture to keep your camera busy for hours. You won’t find too many photo galleries of downtown Chicago without a shot of Millennium Park and Cloud Gate (“The Bean”), one of the most iconic landmarks in the city. A stunning skyline coupled with cultural attractions like the Art Institute of Chicago present a Downtown where work and play peacefully coexist.
