My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at the Swissotel Chicago last weekend. What a nice hotel - very clean and well kept, great service, fantastic views of the river, architectural buildings and Navy pier, and centrally located to all the major attractions. We were able to walk everywhere, including Michigan Ave., Millenium Park, Willis Tower and Buckingham... More

Swissotel and Fairmont do great things and make you feel special when staying. Super weekend deals and the staff make the difference. The hotel is within walking distance of many things and has easy access to transit as well. Although the Valet Parking is pricy, it is handy. The hotel is quiet and you can walk out the front door... This hotel is awesome! Nice rooms, great views, excellent staff. My wife and I were celebrating our 21st Anniversary & the person checking us in wished us Happy Anniversary. They even left a complimentary Anniversary snack in our room when we returned for the evening. We cannot wait to come back. Swissotel is now one of our favorite Chicago hotels!

I had heard of the Swissotel chain but this was my first experience. We traveled in mid-August on a combined work/family vacation and I found the hotel met all our needs. Our 10-year-old liked the pool and Jacuzzi, as did my husband - and I enjoyed pre-meeting breakfast at Geneva (ask for Ruben) alongside a host of ACE Hardware conventioneers).... More

Disclaimer: I called the hotel the Monday (3 days) after we checked out to speak with a manager about our stay. I wanted to give the hotel an opportunity to address the issues we had during our stay. I was forwarded to a voicemail, left my name, number, and dates of stay and requested a call back. I am writing... More

I was pleasantly surprised when I received an email at 11:30 in the morning saying my room was ready to check in three and one half hours early. I was pleased that my visit to Chicago would get an earlier start than I expected. Check in was flawless. I was handed a room key card and directions to the elevators.... More

For the most part I was very pleased with this hotel. The bed was decent, and the facilities were fairly nice given the price and location. I was particularly impressed with the workout facilities and pool. However, I arrived at 4 pm and was informed that no rooms were available. I was left waiting in the lobby for 90 minutes... More

We booked Swissotel through Hotwire. After making the reservation I read some of the reviews and was a little nervous about this hotel. But we could not have been more pleased!! We loved everything about it - we were able to check-in when we arrived about 2:00 with no waiting at all, the views were awesome (we did upgrade to... More

First time staying here. Good price for the experience. I checked in at mid-afternoon and there was a line/it was slow (reminded me of a Las Vegas hotel check-in experience). It's a busy property, with airline crews and convention-goers, but that didn't really detract from my experience. The bed was comfy, the view was fine (not a big deal for... More

Staying in Downtown / The Loop

Neighborhood Profile
Downtown / The Loop
Often visitors' first stop in Chicago, The Loop is a good starting point to sample the city's energy and flavor. This central business district boasts Michelin-rated restaurants, upscale hotels, premier shopping, and enough arresting architecture to keep your camera busy for hours. You won’t find too many photo galleries of downtown Chicago without a shot of Millennium Park and Cloud Gate (“The Bean”), one of the most iconic landmarks in the city.
