I recently stayed here for 3 nights on business. The location was great with Millennium Park and Michigan Ave right down the street. There was even a food court in the building next door with a Starbucks and other well known spots so I can see where it would be perfect in the winter if you don't want to walk... More

Stayed three nights for pleasure. I have been visiting Chicago for 30 years, generally 2x each year. Generally I will stay at a Marriott, or more often a Sheraton hotel (usually the Towers). I found a Triple A deal for the Fairmont, so knowing it's reputation as an "upscale" hotel, I grabbed the 3-night deal. HUGE disappointment! I am very... More

Stayed their for new years eve in 2014, was BLOWN AWAY! Great hotel, extremely friendly staff, room service (the cheesecake was to die for!) Wonderful views of Navy Peir from our room. We wanted to go watch the fireworks but it was a bit chilly so we cracked open a bottle of wine, got in the complimentary robes and watched... More

This hotel was safe, clean and the customer service was fantastic. Upon returning from my morning run, the bellman greeted me with a bottle of water and a towel. I've never had that happen anywhere. Nice touch!

First time ever staying here. Initially, I requested a high rise, king bed room. I got the high rise on the 26th floor, but two double beds. All I had to do was call the main desk, request my preference, and one of the employees met me in the lobby of the 25th floor to exchange room keys. I had... More

Had a delightful visit Fairmont Gold was outstanding. Made us feel like important people but in a professional way. The staff was helpful and had some excellent ideas for ease of getting around and places to see that were off the usual tourist destination

Fine Hotel - A few changes and it would be posh. Check in was not available at 7:30pm due to a software issue. Okay, but the front desk should have had more than one person on the front desk. The lobby is attractive. Room had a great bed and linens. Tips - Put out the don't not disturb sign -... More

The fairmont Gold Level room is an exceptional value. The breakfast buffet in the lobby can be crowded and messy, but get a gold level room and avoid the congestion. The concierge service at your fingertips, or you at your table side during breakfast. Perfect!

Downtown / The Loop
Often visitors' first stop in Chicago, The Loop is a good starting point to sample the city's energy and flavor. This central business district boasts Michelin-rated restaurants, upscale hotels, premier shopping, and enough arresting architecture to keep your camera busy for hours. You won’t find too many photo galleries of downtown Chicago without a shot of Millennium Park and Cloud Gate (“The Bean”), one of the most iconic landmarks in the city.
