Our recent stay at the Monaco, a Kimpton Hotel, was awesome. The rooms, the staff, the attached rest/lounge couldn't be better. We had a great view and a very comfortable bed. We have stayed at the Allegro, the Burnham and the Palomar, all Kimpton hotels. The Monaco was the last on our list for Kimpton properties and it was great.... More

This hotel was a real treat from the wine reception to the wonderfully comfortable rooms. It was a birthday treat. Love the bar, truffle fries are a hit, wonderful signature martinis! More

From the moment I arrived curb-side until left for the airport three days later, I was very much impressed with the hotel, location, and service I received during my three-day stay! It's always a great sign when you are greeted curbside by the doorman and he remembers your name for the next three days! This is an older Chicago hotel... More

Quick business trip and I generally like Kimpton Hotels. The renovated rooms are very nice. Spacious and modern (yet classy) decor. It's a great location---just off Michigan Ave. and a block from the El. Check-in was a good experience...they had all my preferences down as a Kimpton InTouch member. The room was very quiet (although it was facing East, so... More

Gobucky- I'm thrilled to hear you enjoyed the renovated rooms. We wanted to keep it very comfortable, but also we wanted to ensure your needs are met with things like lots of power outlets and iPad/iPhone charging iHomes. I hope when you return you'll reach out to me. I'd love to try and help with one of those River View... More

I stayed at the Hotel Monaco on a business trip 1-21-2012 for 3 nights. I was greeted by friendly staff. The room was clean, comfy and quiet. I never heard any outside noise. The bed was great and the shower was warm and clean. I ate at the hotel restaurant 1 night. The coho salmon was excellent. Mortons is located... More

Dear Goodscout, I'd love to have you back another night too! Thank you for the kind review and I'm sure glad you found us clean, friendly and quiet. Perhaps next time you visit I might recommend you to try South Wakter Kitchen Chef Roger Waysok's German Chocolate Cake. Its pretty amazing and it's his mom's recipe. Ryan Parker More

Check in was a breeze, as we were allowed to check in a bit early. However, I was extremely annoyed when I heard the single gentlemen next to me get upgraded to a suite, while I had a King room with my wife and infants. What was really annoying is that I am a Kimpton "In Touch" member, which is... More

Thank you for taking the time to leave the review. I'm so sorry to hear about your experience. We stayed at Hotel Monaco for our 25th anniversary in December, and what a great place to stay. The hotel staff greeted us warmly and made us feel so welcome. They shared in our happiness about being there for our anniversary and about the fun and interesting things we were able to do in the area. Shannon at the front... More

Happy Anniversary! Thank you for the really great review and I'm so pleased to hear "--it didn't have the feeling of a chain hotel at all." because we very much try to be unique and exciting. Aren't those window seats such a prize? Want more surprises? Make sure you are a Kimpton InTouch guest, it's an easy and free way... More

My husband and I stay at this boutique hotel each time we spend the night in Chicago. We have never been disappointed. It is one block off of Michigan Avenue so is relatively quiet. It is close to shopping, the Art Institute, Symphony Center and wonderful restaurants. The staff is very friendly. The room is comfortable; some of them have... More

We have stayed here twice and enjoyed it. Love the hotel happy hour. It provided a nice break from our holiday sight-seeing and shopping to stop and relax. The restaurant downstairs is great and super convenient for breakfast. Can't beat the location, right in the middle of everything. Walk to stores, art museum, restaurants. We paid extra to get a... Mishmosh, So glad you got the upgrade to enjoy that view. When you stay in such a great location, it's a shame to pass up the opportunity for one of those window seat rooms. You mention having stayed a couple times, I certainly hope you took advantage of the Kimpton InTouch membership- it's free and the gets you that free... More
