Stayed here last week with my husband and the hotel and staff were excellent. Location is great, breakfast was great and the room was lovely and large and hotel spotless. Prior to visiting Chicago we were in Boston and staying in another hotel chain, at the end of ever corridor in this other hotel chain they had free refillable water... More

We come to Chicago at a minimum once a year and on this trip for the half marathon we decided to try a different hotel. This stay at the Hampton was great! From check in to check out it was well worth the money. All the staff we encountered during our two night stay were friendly and helpful. The suite... More

Stayed at the Hampton in July for our first visit to Chicago and we were very pleased with our choice. The location was perfect for us. We parked the car and never used it again until we left as we were able to walk everywhere we needed to go. Shopping/restaurants/ Boat Tours/Navy Pier/Millennium park and Starbucks all close enough to... More

This is a great place to stay, just half a block in from Michigan Avenue. The Hampton Inn shares a lobby with Homewood Suites which is another Hilton property. We didn’t have a car, so can’t talk about the parking. There’s a pool on the roof that is quite small, but has some good views of the city. Pros: -... More

We stayed from July 17 - 22. The room was clean and fairly modern. We found our bed to be very comfortable. The staff were all pleasant and helpful. Special thanks to Benjamin at the front desk for the "skip the line" pass for Gino's on our first night. That saved us an hour in line. One complaint I have... More

This visit to Chicago was for business with time for shopping and seeing the sights. The staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms very clean. Being near a major hospital there is the usual sounds from emergency vehicles which all hotels in the downtown area must contend with. It wasn't bothersome. The higher the floor the less noise you... From our first encounter with the amazing staff at the front until our departure after complimentary breakfast on the mezzanine - this was one of the best places I've stayed at! Pros - the staff - they truly care about your stay. the rooms - while they are not the most up to date, they are spacious and very clean.... More

For a hotel RIGHT off Michigan Ave. it offers great location. While, like most Hamptons, it can be a madhouse during tourist season, the room was spotless, quiet, and even with the narrow hallways generously laid out (nobody stays in the hallways). I book on Hilton.com and got a rate that was half that of most of my colleagues were... More

Ideal location, but recently lost its four star rating. Staff are helpful and polite. The major issues are the incredibly slow elevators (few in number for the height of the hotel) and the mercenary fees charged for parking. I am not sure the hotel owns or even has an arrangement with the parking facility right next door, but is it... More

Staying in Magnificent Mile

Neighborhood Profile
Magnificent Mile
Over 400 stores pack the concrete along Michigan Avenue, the eight-block stretch known as Magnificent Mile. This area between Oak Avenue and the Chicago River is more a shopping paradise than a full-out neighborhood. For prime upscale shopping, this is the place to go. It’s busy, energetic, and packed with shoppers. You'll also find hundreds of restaurants and dozens of hotels, all on the mid- to high-end scale. Some of the city’s most iconic buildings like the Wrigley Building, John Hancock Center and other architectural marvels define the magnificence of this neighborhood.
