My friends and I have stayed at these cabins at least 3 times now in the last 3 years and we already have another trip booked for October! We love to stay at these cabins when we go down to the Shawnee Wine Trail. The cabins are on the south east corner of the Wine trail and 2 of the... More

We have stayed at the cabins now for many years. Our first was cabin #1 very enjoyable first experience. The rest of our stays have been at cabin #2, we love the privacy of being way back to the back of the property. for several years we would fine places we wanted to see while we were in Carbondale. We... More

We called to book the cabin for two nights for fall break...The man who answered the phone said to go online and make our reservation. Which we did. After waiting for the 48 hrs for some one to call me back, we called and called and called and finally reached someone who told us she had booked the cabin over... More

Our daughter attends SIU in Carbondale, about 20 minutes from the cabin. We brought our other two teenagers down and the four of us stayed at the cabin while our daughter came out during the days/evenings to spend time. The cabin is absolutely beautiful with everything you could need right there. The smell of pine wood as you walk in... More

I really wanted to stay here, but I didn't get any response from the internet reservation system. I did speak to a person several days ago who took my info and said they would get back to me later that day....nothing. That's ok, we are going to stay at Giant City Lodge in one of their cabins.

This was our first visit and the cabin was perfect!!!! Very secluded, very clean, excellent location to downtown Carbondale. The owners were very helpful with questions we had. The hot tub was very clean and nice to unwind in at the end of the day. The satalite tv was perfect to watch movies and shows on. The kids loved having... More

This was our first visit and we will for sure be back! The cabin was everything we were wanting. We didn't even see the owners the entire time, it was very peaceful & we were able to relax without a care in the world. My only complaint would be that the beds are terribly firm. They're not pillowtop mattresses, which... More

This was our 4th visit in as many years and we like the place for some of the reasons others don't! Our cell phones don't connect till we get to the main road and the cabins are 'off the beaten path'. And life without wifi is not as horrible as it sounds. The access road *is* narrow and there is... The cabin was just fine. Everything was perfect inside and clean. We could of asked for a more peaceful place. Not a sound except the birds singing. Watch out though for the wasp this time of year. They like log cabins and I don't like wasp. They won't hurt you but they sure fly around you alot. the bed was... More

We absolutely LOVE staying at Devil's Kitchen Cabins. We have 2 children (one special needs) and find it very hard to truly appreciate each other as husband and wife at home. Every fall we make a long weekend trip and get some much needed "us" time. These cabins provide the perfect environment. We can go into town to eat or... More
