When in Bloomington-Normal, be sure to stay at or at least visit the historic Vrooman Mansion. This is one of the remaining grand homes of Bloomington, and shouldn't be missed. It is a delightful B&B in the beautifully restored home of Julia and Carl Vrooman. Originally built in 1869 and expanded in later years, the house invites you in for... More

As we planned for the drop off of our daughter at IWU, my husband took on the responsibility of booking an overnight stay for us... and wow, what a treat it was! While the neighborhood seems a bit run down, the home is very convenient to the IWU campus and has so much charm & history. When we arrived, Tricia... More

The Vrooman is a beautiful historic mansion which on close examination needs some repairs and attention. The breakfast was out of this world! Delicious, creative and quite large. Service was excellent and they accommodate the smallest requests. We had a party for 30 people catered by the Inn and it was perfect in every way. We stayed in the charming... More

We're very glad to hear that you & your family enjoyed the event, our creative & ample breakfast and the service we provided. Also, that you enjoyed the peace and charm of the Carriage House. My apologizes that the mattress didn't fit your preference. It is a new Simmons Black Beauty Rest firm mattress with plush pillow top. Not all... More

My first stay at a B&B - and the Vrooman Mansion did not disappoint. Based on information from the website and other TA reviews, I expected wonderful breakfasts. Wow! I savored three gourmet breakfasts during my stay, and the menus were deliciously varied. Treats included potato and bacon frittatas, crepes with fresh peaches and cream, Black Forest pancakes with fresh... More

The rooms are very nice and clean!! A little more light in the rooms would be nice. The building is very historic and some original items in the B&B. The staff were very accommodating!! Breakfast was delicious, and a very large portion. There is a great room, you can visit with other guests and there are snaks and drinks available.... More

Arriving to this lovely, tree shaded home on a Friday felt like going to an old family friend's home. Spacious Julia bedroom with attached bath fulfilled our present sensibilties while giving us a historical step-back in time. Loved the piano in the music room and the parlor's various scrapbooks detailing the history of the original owners. Our very welcoming hostess... More

We stayed for only one night on our way back from Chicago. They were wonderfully welcoming and the house is incredible. We were given a tour of the house when we arrived and the history was very interesting. We loved the deep tub in the Rose room and the handmade soaps! After a good nights sleep, we had an amazing... Excellent decorum and wonderful history. Very friendly hostess with everything you could want. They allowed us to store our bikes in the carriage house for safe keeping. Would recommend it to anyone. The breakfast was delicious.

We stopped here during our trip down Route 66 and all I can say is if you get the chance to stay then do so, it is truly an experience! Every aspect including the staff was perfect. I just wish we could have stayed a bit longer.
