We spent a week at Thala Beach Lodge over late July and early August. We very much enjoyed our stay and we're very glad we didn't stay in tourist packed Port Douglas. The staff were friendly and helpful, even sending a fax for me. Breakfast in the restaurant overlooking the sea was very special. The citrus creme brûlée with blood... More

So yes I wanted a nice secluded location with my husband and it's definitely that. The beach was totally empty just me and him but that's where it ends. 1. The lodgings - well okay but out dated particularly the bathroom, no windows just slats and eucalyptus room = no view so not only have you paid loads there's nothing... More

I'm so glad I selected Thala for my Port Douglas holiday: from the moment I arrived to the very last day this was the most amazing experience. In fact this is less a resort and more a retreat. So very peaceful amongst the trees. They've really created something special here: the setting is so peaceful and well planned (although not... More

We stayed at Thala for a total of one night before we escaped to a real five star resort in Port Douglas. We felt that we should write this review as we used trip advisor to pick it. Here are the reasons why we left and some factors that are misleading in the reviews. Firstly it is a Eco lodge... More

We are so pleased these clients enjoyed our beautiful rainforest and gorgeous scenery. As everyone is aware, Trip Advisor reviews are compiled by actual travellers – reviews reflect the independent thoughts, opinions and experiences of past guests. To say that some reviews are ‘misleading’ is absurd – independent thought is the whole purpose of this forum. Yes we are proudly... More

Wonderful location with comfortable cabins. Glamping at its best. The environment is just beautiful and you are living right amongst the trees and birds. The cabins are located amongst all different parts of the headland. You can have a tree house style south facing cabin with stunning big views over the tree tops (the balcony can be quite exposed if... More

This was a great start to our Australian vacation. You do need some level of fitness to climb the hill from your cabin to the main building but the privacy of the cabins is great. We really liked the staff. The real highlight was the morning breakfast with the beautiful rainbow lorikeets.

The rooms are lodges built on a headland around the main building. Ours was quite far away, but the team there have golf buggies at your beck and call, so you'll never have to walk too far. The room was lovely and had the feeling of "colonial comfort". It's not absolutely opulent, but it's very comfortable. The hotel is only... More

We started our trip at Thala Beach Lodge, so we could get over jetlag. What an amazing place. Starting with our check-in, the staff were extremely attentive, knew our names for the duration of our five days with them, and were most helpful in booking tours and recommending restaurants in Pt. Douglas, about a 20 minute ride away. We stayed... More

This was our second stay at Thala Beach Lodge and it more than lived up to our expectations and memories. The location is magical; so quiet and peaceful, a perfect escape from our hectic lives. The service was excellent and all the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. We swam at the beach every day & really enjoyed sitting under... More

Me and my husband spent our anniversary here recently and were greatly rewarded. This resort is absolutely beautiful. The accommodation, views, food and service were a delight to be had. The cocounut drinks were so refreshing and would have to be the best cocktail we have had anywhere. Highly recommend anyone visit this little piece of paradise.
