Our friends joined us from Louisiana. Our trip to Stanley, Red Fish and the May Family Ranch was a delight. We enjoyed the surprise of these individual 'cabins'. When we opened the door to our cabin our mouths dropped open! What luxury! Truly, a warm, cozy hidden treasure!

We stayed in one of the cabins, alittle away from the main building fro two nights. It was very spacious with a kitchen, lounge, a main bedroom with an enormous bed and a laundry with washing machine (no powder supplied). The two couches in the lounge pulled out to make two large beds for the kids. It was very comfortable... More

I stayed 2 nights at the High Country Inn in Stanley (ID) while crossing central Idaho as part of a road trip. The hotel is very charming, super-clean. Every room seems to be characterized, we stayed in the Bears room and in fact all the pictures on the wall were of bears. The log furniture gave even more character for... More

Stayed 2 nights. Office staff was great. Room was awesome and very clean. Decor fit the town perfectly. There is no air conditioning, however, if you research this part of the country you will find it is not necessary. There is a ceiling fan and window which is all that is needed.

A bit over priced but we walked in for a last minute reservation during a busy rafting and craft fair week. The room was nice enough. The bed was too soft for us but the linens were nice. No frig or microwave in the room. There is coffee available in the lobby. They do have a small "library" type reading... More

We stayed here one night before our rafting trip, and two nights afterwards. Last year when we stayed two nights, we thought it was a decent value but it needed some spiffing up. Unfortunately, the same issues are present. Wifi is very poor and nonexistent in the breakfast room. Breakfast is discontinued, by the way, with only coffee and average... More

As other reviewers have said this is a rustic, quaint hotel. The staff is helpful and pleasant. Love the dogs in the office. We stayed in a suite which had a back deck with somewhat of a view. The room was spacious and I liked the log style furniture. If the deck was furnished with the same type of table... More

We were in the area to drop off a trailer to the juvenile diabetes camp and ended up staying at the High Country Inn for the night before returning home. We had never spent a lot of time in the area so it was a great chance to check out the activities and food, of which there are many great... More

We stayed in Stanley for 2 nights as a base for dayhiking in the Sawtooth Mountains. We were the first clients of the season, so we had the place to ourselves. (Note: while the Inn opens in mid-May, the restaurant (Back Country Bistro) does not open until late June.) The staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. They... More
