I spent one night here while travelling solo through the area on an extended motorcycle trip. This historic-style hotel and restaurant were the perfect complement for this kind of rugged travel. The property is crammed into an ancient log building and so is understandably crowded but quaint and very comfortable. About a dozen rooms are packed upstairs over the kitchen... More

I'm glad we stayed here, but I don't think I'd return. It's not a bed-and-breakfast. You're on your own for that; the staff recommends a little restaurant about two blocks away, perhaps the only one in town, crowded, but the food is good. The rooms in this rugged, historic hotel are located on the second floor above the restaurant and... More

Hotel is small but cozy. Rooms have been modernized and are super comfortable. The manager/owner is very accommodating and will go out of her way to make your visit enjoyable. You can sit on the porch before dinner, enjoy the great scenery, have you meal and (on weekends) enjoy some after-dinner live music.

At least the Sawtooth Hotel comes by the burden of "Old West" cute under which it staggers honestly given the town and it's history. Also, it might be out of place in this "Too cute by half" tourist destination were it otherwise. The very competent woman at the check in desk, sensed that "friendly flippant" wasn't working and smoothly transitioned... More

Loved the Sawtooth Hotel. We stayed on recommendation from a friend, and we were not disappointed! We stayed in one of the outer area rooms that has its own bathroom. Other than the spider, I had no troubles with the room. A small kitchenette was perfect for cooking up a little breakfast in the morning. The attached restaurant had great... More

We recently stayed at the Sawtooth Hotel while in Stanley to do some river rafting. Kelli, one of the owners, greeted us when we arrived and took great care of us during our stay, as did all the staff. Our rooms were wonderfully cozy with a very rustic feel, while the bathrooms were very modern and clean. We stayed in... More

Our return visit for the Sawtooth Ski Festival was again a wonderful experience having room reservation at this amazing hotel. Upon our arrival on Friday we were greeted by Tim, Becky and Kelly, the owners. A hearty lunch of homemade soup and sandwiches by the fireplace overlooking the Sawtooth Mountains was the beginning of a great winter weekend. Later that... More

My wife and I stayed here for a night last summer and were very pleased. The proprietors were fun and easy to chat with. The room had everything we needed, and had a very nice bathroom. Dinner at the restaurant was amazing. Good location within walking distance of Stanley's fun spots.

We stayed here with some friends during the weekend of a large cross-country ski race held in the Sawtooths (back in Feb 2011) and LOVED the location, managers (so friendly and down-to-earth) and genuine nature of the place. The views are outstanding and nearby access to some great nordic skiing trails are in store for you. It was an absolutely... More

Four of us drove up from Ketchum for dinner and we were really glad we did. We did not stay in the hotel. The rustic dining room has big windows which look out over the mountains, plus there's also a deck used in warmer weather. We were just delighted with the meal. The sweet potato fries were memorable, as was... More
