What a shame that such a lovely canyon is not suitable for a good night sleep. The majority of reviewers were right on target. The onslaught of trains and the busy roadway detract from all the positives. Visit the town (hot springs, rafting, and a meal) and then be on your way. This campground is not conducive to a relaxing... More

We got here late at night got a rv site. As were trying to sleep we heard ground rumble and the screeching train every couple hours. Must be busy train route. And lot of cars passing by. We paid $67 for full hookup with 4 adults and child. For the location and the situation I think it was overpriced.

Worse camping experience I have ever had. The site is literally a few yards from a major highway with semi trucks barreling by. Right next to that is a busy train thoroughfare, with screeching wheels and whistles blowing all night long. All this in a very narrow canyon. Several other campers partied like this was their last night on earth... More

Kind of average. Right next to major road with a train across the street. I feel like a hobo in a Johnny Cash song. And that's not necessarily a bad thing. Expensive, but it does have the Taj Mahal of campground bathrooms. I have never seen granite countertops at a campground before. Honestly, the bathroom suite is nicer than my... More

Yep, UP8 - next to the highway, I couldn't really understand what the attendant was talking about from one minute to next...she said 'we're really' busy, so I'll need to put you in UP8 (next to highway). I get up the next morning, UP7, UP6, UP5 are vacant - and a LOT farther away from the noisy highway, trains (all... More

Clean facility, helpful staff. Packed to the gills in each campsite. Trains went through just up the hill several times during the night. Lots of loud partiers and laughing. We were there Friday and Saturday night. It was pretty quiet around 11 or 12 pm. Town is in walking distance as was river floating. Sweet little tourist town. River floating... More

We were the first people to stay here in March, 2014 and the only ones in the facility. The staff were extremely nice and caring. The grounds were well manicured and the electrical boxes and water spigots all appeared to be new. Nice location along the river and in walking distance to the famous thai restaurant downtown and lava hot... More

We were on a camping tour of the West of the States and were on our way from Lake Tahoe to Yellowstone. We stopped here for a night to break the journey. It was lovely to not have to put up the tent and bliss to have a matress to sleep on. Lovely restrooms and showers with good dish washing... More

We were pulling our RV to Yelllowstone and decided to spend a night in Lava Hot Springs and enjoy the hot springs. We made reservations at the KOA. When we pulled in everyone was very nice and we were directed to a nice grassy spot that backed right up to the river. We also noticed that we were right next... More
