I was very satisfied with my stay. I did several soaks in the mineral tubs and had a very relaxing massage. I was so impressed I changed my plans and stayed an extra night. The restaurant had an excellent Gourmet Chef and menu.

If you have ever been to Lava Hot Springs then you know that there simply aren't any exceptional hotels here. The Riverside Hot Springs Inn is an old but quirky hotel. The staff is great and very accommodating. The rooms are something out of the old west with transoms over the doors and creaky floors. If you want luxury, go... More

Love the place, because of the history but i love it more for the gourmet food we got to eat and the friendly staff. The private hot spring rooms are awesome, I love the privacy. I recommended this hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing experience.

The Riverside Inn was constructed about a hundred years ago, and the restoration of the place seems true to the times. It is neat, tidy, and the nicks and dents of a century of visitors mark the dark wood, it feels authentic--genuinely a part of a gentler time in America. Sited on the banks of the Portneuf River, we had... More

This place was great! We were there on a pretty busy Valentine's Day when they were fully booked, and though the building is old and gives a lot of great "old school" ambiance, we didn't feel that the place was over-crowded or anything. The hot water in the shower didn't last very long, but we loved soaking in the private... More

When you get 11 wild and crazy women staying at the same place the Riverside was perfect. The rooms are definitely meant for 2 people max. The bedding was clean the room was clean and also the bathrooms which are shared by the way in most rooms. Staff was super friendly and helpful. They supply robes and towels and the... More

The Riverside Inn is 101 yrs old this year. Noted for Teddy Roosevelt's stay ....back in the day. This is a romantic hot spot with private soaker rooms in the basement. The food/restaurant is totally a shining star. Excellent dinner and breakfast... Old rooms and beds but very much worth the visit.

We happened across this hotel accidentally but were very glad later. We hadn't planned on stopping in Lava Hot Springs, but after seeing the name on a road sign we decided to take a little detour. After several long days of exploring and driving, it sounded like a good place to take a break. The hotel is full of charm... More

The stately old brick Riverside Hot Springs Inn harkens back to the days when Teddy Roosevelt reputedly slept in what is now the Presidential Room (#200), where we spent two nights in November. On our return trip through Lava Hot Springs in December we reserved Guest Room #201, the room we had stayed in during our summer trip west. Both... More

First of all, I love old hotels. This is old. Quirky. Fun. What is good about this place: architecture, soft sheets, awesome private hot springs tubs in the basement. We took advantage of the couples massage and had a good soak before a relaxing massage. Yes, book the massage. It is worth it. The restaurant's offerings were also good. Crostini... More
