Saturday afternoon, my husband and I, with our two kids (14, 12) drove an hour north from Ketchum to Smiley Creek Lodge. We rented double seated snowmobiles and clothing/boots, and drove on groomed trails 50+ miles round trip to Redfish Lake! Gorgeous scenery. We returned and had a great dinner. We had the Black and Blue Burger, wings, french fries,... More

i never stayed in the lodge, but i have eaten there in the cafe every september for many years. the food i good, the service is good, the prices are fair, and there is plenty of varoety on the menu. they also have a fine selection of beers and ales from quality microbreweries.

Food was overpriced. Could have driven to Sun Valley and got better food for half the price. $6.50 for a milkshake! Food was "pull out of the freezer" variety with no flavor. Spent $200 for lunch that wasn't worth feeding to the animals.

Our group stayed in 2 of the lodge rooms and were very happy with each room. They are very clean, comfortable and quaint lodge rooms. You have a private outside entrance above the restaurant below. The bathroom is massive and soooo clean with big thick towels-much nicer than you would think for such a rustic little place and so reasonably... More

Too bad TripAdvisor doesn't list this place under Restaurants. Wanting to get out of overpriced, overindulgent Ketchum, we stumbled on Smiley Creek, with good food and very friendly service in a quaint oak-filled dining room/store at very decent prices. Their "fruits of the forest" (mixed fruit) pie was outstanding. And the setting, with the Sawtooth Mountains as backdrop, is great.... More

We didn't stay at the lodge, we drove up from Sun Valley to do a half-day snow mobile trip. We had a great time. The staff were so kind and helpful to us. (Being from FL we had a lot of questions.) The trail was great and took you over bridges and streams. You are completely surrounded by mountains and... More

If you are visiting Sun Valley during the winter, definitely save an afternoon for snowmobiling out of Smiley Creek lodge. You can choose a guided tour or just go off on your own. We chose to rent 3 singles for 2 hours which was perfect. We had done this years ago when our kids were smaller and the double made... More

Well maintained and trimmed. Backcountry airport nearby. Restaurant and gas station part of the property. Business is remote, so prices are on the high side. Well staffed. RV sites are large, grassy green and clean. Shower house is clean. In addition to motel rooms, one can stay in a yurt of one of two teepees on site. Wifi was available... More

Stayed at the RV park with full hookups. From what we could tell all the cabins, teepees, and yurt was full each of the two nights we were onsite. Little C-store had everything we needed (except fishing worms... not their fault though), restaurant had good food at an acceptable price for the location. All staff was very friendly, the RV... We tent camped here July 28-30 - the absence of campgrounds with showers in this region compelled us to choose Smiley Creek. Very reasonably priced for a tent site ($15/night) given the amenities - electrical outlets were available, as well as flush toilets and sinks. My only knock is the lack of designated tent sites that have some element of... More
