Venice was probably that hardest hotel to book. The hotel was on Lido so it was a bit of a boat ride to get there from St. Marks Square and even from the taxi port it was about 500 meters walk to the hotel. I don't remember there being many good places to eat or go on Lido. We would... More

A quiet hotel in a quiet area of the Lido. About a 10 minute walk from the waterbus station which allows good views across to Venice as you walk to and fro. Just around the corner (5 minute walk) from a small supermarket which really helps the wallet, especially for soft drinks and snacks to take out while seeing the... More

Hotel Villa Mabapa, Lido, Italy - Overall rating, 4 stars Stayed in this hotel for two nights with a Gate1 tour. It is located in a nice residential area on the island of Lido, a 15-minute waterbus ride from St. Marks Square. There is a nice outside courtyard with a bar and several tables and chairs. It is a long... More

I was traveling as part of a tour group, but staying in a room by myself. Our tour guide prepared us for the fact that some of our hotels would not be what we would expect in America. Many of the hotels in Italy had once been something else and had been converted to hotels in the best way that... More

We stayed there 2008 and where happs. But meanwhile this Hotel is never worth (4) Stars!! Our Room could not be locked; the nightporter even could not repair it. Even the security-chain was too long: the door could be opend from outside. We had to help ourselve to block the entrance-door (See Photo). The breakfast was the worst we ever... More

This is a charming hotel in the old style but we did have a room in the original part which I think made a difference: not overly large but very nice. The room had shutters and dark wood shelving and was lovely. It faced the back of the hotel and looked over a deck area and trees. On the first... More

We stayed here as part of a Globus tour. Our room was very spacious, although I heard others say their rooms were tiny. The hotel is composed of several buildings and it appears that the accomodations vary depending on which building you are in. We stay in the rear building, on the third floor with a small balcony with table... More

This was my first time on Lido and I really enjoyed it. This hotel had the amenities of a best western but the feel of Venice. It was very easy to get over to Venice. This hotel is set right across the street from the water and you can see Venice from there. The breakfast was good and they kept... More

During my previous trips to Venice, we stayed near the railroad station; that is still my preferred location. We were on a tour this time and did not choose the hotel, but I was looking forward to staying on Lido. If we had been on our own, I would have found the location to be very inconvenient. To me, the... More
