I'm on a quest to visit all 50 states and had a chance for a quick visit to Idaho and decided to stay at The Modern Hotel in Boise. The room was great as was the staff who gave great recommendations for my short visit. I will definitely be re-visiting Idaho and The Modern Hotel and Bar!

Checking into the "hotel" I had expected more of a Hotel not a motel . No elevator to second floor. minimal lighting on stairs that needed to be stripped and repainted. Dated room with a very small bathroom door.

We recently stayed at The Modern and were pleasantly surprised. Friendly staff, clean very cool/modern rooms and great cocktails. Has a interesting history and is cool to support a local family business.

The hotel is well located near dining and entertainment in downtown Boise. The rooms were clean and minimal and the beds super comfortable. I didn't give it the highest review because it was noisy at night. The front facing walls and door were so thin I could hear the people at the bar, people walking and talking along the hallway,... The staff was great and offered outstanding customer service. The bar was nice and the food was good; however, for being a bar specializing in craft cocktails and was surprised by the low level of mixology knowledge that the bartender's possessed. The room was nice for the price, but was incredibly loud from the outside noise. I specifically asked for... More

This is a remodeled Travel Lodge. Even though the remodel was well done, the hotel is in close vicinity to many desirable places downtown Boise, and the restaurant/bar was tasty... it couldn't make up for a bad night's sleep. The walls were paper thin and the cinder block front filtered not only emergency vehicle but also foot traffic noise right... More

We stayed here both on our way to and and our way back from Utah. Great surprise wrapped in an old motor lodge package. It's been reconnoitered and is super clean and contemporary. Beds are great for even our 60 year old backs, good sheets, too. The happy surprise is the on site restaurant serving local and organic food that's... More

At first, I was a bit turned off by no elevator (had 2 large suitcases) and limited parking in the hotel parking lot. And, the first room they put me in was above the restaurant, overlooking the courtyard/bar area, and it was quite noisy. But when I asked to be moved to a quieter room, they were great, and they...
