I was in Washington, GA, to give a lecture to a group. They met in the Fitzpatrick and arranged for me to stay there. What a wonderful experience! I had a huge room furnished in the appropriate style for 1895, the year the hotel was built. The ac/heat worked perfectly, the atmosphere dripped history, and the staff was unbelievably helpful... I just stayed a night in Suite 201. The suite was lovely. Good accommodations: 2 good size flat screen tv's and a channel guide was nearby; working fireplace; everything there except bring a bathtub plug so you can take a bubble bath. I bought one at Ace Hardware nearby. Wish water pressure was stronger in tub. Desk clerks were friendly... More

I love history and I loved staying in this restored hotel. The accommodations were great - antique yet with all the modern conveniences, and the staff were wonderful. the small town is charming with lots of interesting history to see. The food at the Jockey Club [supper] and The Talk of Town [Sunday Buffet] restaurants were both unbelievably good. I have... More

Overall we really enjoyed our stay in Historic Washington, Georgia at the beautiful Fitzpatrick Hotel. It was so lovingly restored and yet, it had almost all the comforts of home. It was a bit warm (we stayed in July) in our room and, sadly, the claw-foot tub was sans its plug so we had to settle for showers instead of... More

My wife and I stayed at the Fitzpatrick on August 15th., 2014. This lovely town of Washington is fantastic for sightseeing, but the Hotel Fitzpatrick is outstanding in every respect. The ladies that work the front desk were so very friendly and helpful, and the room was just perfect (room 100). We honestly could not have hoped to find better... More

My wife and I were looking for a historic town to visit on our return trip to Louisiana from Savannah and Charleston. We had originally wanted to stay in Madison, Ga. but the desired location for our stay was booked at this time. We chose Washington as an alternative and were originally booked into another B & B which closed... More

As city dwellers, visiting the Fitzpatrick was a little bit of a shock. First, there was nobody at the front desk when we arrived, so we simply called the phone number listed and the clerk hurried over within minutes. He was very quiet, just like the hotel. That day we did spot a few souls in the nearby cafe, but... More

This is a wonderful historic hotel in a fantastic little spot. It is a beautifully restored hotel with high end amenities. The bed was top quality and also beautiful, the room had high ceilings, old hardwood floors and lots of woodwork, the doors and hardware were beautiful and the old claw foot bathtub was a real treat and has a... Beautiful restoration in an historic setting. Quaint town square. Very accommodating and friendly atmosphere. With 5 family members staying, the manager was helpful in placing us in rooms to suit our very needs.

My wife & I stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights and we were the ONLY guests, which made for an unusually quiet hotel - total silence and even though my wife didn't care for the ultra quiet, I actually thought it was fine. The owners allowed us access to and from at will and we had the... More

Jim, Thank you for your review. I am glad that you had a pleasant stay. You brought up a very good point that Washington is very quiet Sunday - Tuesday with many of the stores and museums closed during that time. Based on your review, I plan to update our website to reflect this so that customers coming to town... More
