We enjoyed our 4 day stay at the Stone Mountain Campground. This was our first visit to this campground and we were a little wary because it is a fairly large campground. However the campground was very clean, very well kept with curbside trash service throughout the day. All you had to do was leave your bag by the road... More

Lots of things to do close to the park and at the park. Stone Mountain offers lots of activities for young families. Squirrels everywhere and productive fishing for young children. A great outdoor adventure

We stayed here in order to go to Kennesaw Nat'l Battlefield. We were so glad that we chose this campground! We have a 36' travel trailer and were parked near the water. It was a beautiful park and it was quiet at night after the end of the laser light show -- which you should go see at least once... More

The campground is in the woods and very pretty. The bathhouses are clean and ok. It was completely full, so reservations are recommended. Great location since so close to Atlanta and yet feels like you are in the middle of no where. I enjoyed the stay.

Never been camping except with a group (Cub Scouts) so this was our first family camping trip. We got in late and did the night check-in which was easy with existing reservation. After a quick drive around to find out site, we got the tent setup and had water & electric on site (site 62.) In the morning we were... More

I was talked into staying at site 68 by the phone representative when I called to make the reservation. I told her we wanted a tent site with water, electricity, and a view of the lake. She said this would be a good one. Once we arrived at the campground and proceeded to check in the wait line was long.... More

Living in Atlanta many years ago, I knew what Stone Mountain was like. So when we were on a 2000 mile trip in our coach I suggested that we make a stop at Stone Mountain State Park. I had never stayed here before, so when I called and made the reservations the lady was very helpful and suggested which sites... More

We stayed 7 nights starting Friday May 22 and left Friday May 29th, 2015. The park is a great place to walk, run and bike. We stayed in site 383a. We have a 39 ft 5th wheel and a Fort F350 Dually Long wheel base. There was ample room in the site for the rig, and parking beside and in... More

Stone Mountain Family Campground offers many sites for all types of camping. We were camping in our 40' rv. Firstly, the entrance into the campground was very tight to navigate. The sites are moslty gravel with some being full concrete. It appeared most sites were not level requiring levelers and blocks to help level your motorhome or travel trailer. Be prepared... More

As reported earlier, the entrance is very tight, about 4 inches on each side in a class A motorhome. Our first site was so sloped, our front tires were 2 feet off the ground and we were still not level. The staff was very accommodating in assigning us a new site, but without sewer hookup. Not a big deal since... More
