I stayed just the one night when I was attending Upton House Horse Trials. Cute pub and very lively as it seems very popular with the locals. Room clean and comfortable. Food tasty but my real praise is for the staff who were very friendly and helpful without being intrusive. I would definitely stay again.

My daughter, aunt and I stopped for a late lunch after a drive in the country, We were greeted by the barman and locals as we entered the pub. The atmospere was lovely and the meals we ordered were excellent and good value for money. All freshly prepared. A bottle of SA Chardonney to go with the meal was perfect.... More

Stayed for 2 nights picked because of excellent reviews on trip advisor. First impressions not great thought we'd picked a duff, but as long as you don't look too closely at the cleanliness of the accommodation it's acceptable. Quite dusty but think it was a new carpet so carpet dust as opposed to dirt dust. Had booked food for Saturday... More

Needed a B&B with 2 single rooms within a 10 mile radius of Thorpe Mandeville which was proving to be a problem and then tried Cropredy (as my friend goes there for the Festival) and found the Brasenose Arms, which had 2 single rooms. We arrived in good time and had a stroll round the village - which is beautiful... More

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Food excellent both in the bar in the evening and the breakfast. Live music superb. Room comfortable although cleanliness a bit lacking. This did however not put us off visiting again as the staff, owners and locals could not have been anymore welcoming.

After last week's disappointment in a Hilton, it was a relief to find a room which was a distinct upgrade. The room was clean, well stocked, adequately roomy and the bed very comfortable. The staff were all polite and friendly and overall, we could not have hoped for better. And the music was sublime!

Drinking, eating, cycling, live music and hilly walking. We knew what we wanted to do and where to do it .We were not disappointed and The Brasenose was the perfect base for it all, with a good bed and a hot shower. We had excellent weather and each other....Who could ask for more? ;-)

My daughter and I stayed here for one night and then we were joined by my husband and son for the second night. We chose this pub/b&b for it's close location to the Oxford canal as we were visiting family on their narrow boat home. We only used The Brasenose Arms as a base so I cannot comment on the... More

excellent small pub . food limited choice but cooked to perfection. Highly recommend staying here. we stayed for one night on our way to Portsmouth. not far from motorway so it's easy to get off motorway and not stay in a noisy Days Inn or Travel Lodge right by the motorway. The personal service of manager/owner and his staff was... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Brasenose Arms is a 17th century Country Inn, situated in the heart of Cropredy, a rural village just 4 miles north of Banbury, Oxfordshire. Originally three cottages, it was converted into a Public House in the late 17th century.Today, it hosts Britain's (if not Europe's) 'friendliest' music festival - Fairport's Cropredy Convention - staged every year in August by members of the great British folk band - Fairport Convention. Here they are, sitting outside the pub, for the photo on the back of their 1973 album 'Nine'. Contemporary en-suite accommodation is available in a recently converted barn. Six rooms are available - 2 Doubles, 2 Twins (1 family) and 2 Singles all with en suite showers, TV and hospitality trays. Ground floor rooms have disabled access. All rooms are strictly non-smoking. ... more   less
