Beach is nice and quiet away from the beach club which was loaded with teens with alcohol. Our room overlooked the Marsh and was quiet and beautiful. Food was good, service was NOT five star and we were passed over twice so that the employees could take care of members---reminded me of a fraternity for adults and it made me... more

Some would say that The Cloister is an "old world" resort set aside for dignitaries, heads of state, business tycoons and well, the affluent. My expectation was that it would be slightly stuffy and overpriced. I was right about it being pricy but it was not stuffy at all. Everyone we met was very pleasant and kind. The staff at... more

What an amazing experience for the most beautiful spa and beach club I have ever been too!! Sea Island has a lot to offer at the Cloister. We stayed at the villas at The Cloister Beach club, and it was spectacular!! The rooms were very spacious and very secluded and private. The beds were so comfortable with down pillows (in... more

This review is strictly about the Spa. I have not stayed in the hotel, but have been for dinner/drinks – it's fabulous (and expensive) and there are plenty of reviews of that. The SPA on the other hand is a real treat. Also, ridiculously expensive, but a good spa experience is priceless (every now and then). First of all, the... more

I cannot say enough about this wonderful hotel. The rooms are huge, beautifully furnished and they have thought of every way to make you comfortable. The facilities at this resort are outstanding. The spa is gorgeous, the beach club is great, the lodge at the golf course is fabulous. If you are a golfer, this is the place for you.... more

This property is a five star resort in almost every respect. It is old world elegant with all the ameneties you would expect from a five star property. The rooms are extremely roomy and well appointed. That having been said, this resort is so expensive, in virtually every respect, that it could never be deemed a value. $750/night for a... more

My daughter and I took a 4 day vacation break at the Cloister to unstress and relax. This is the perfect place for that. The property is gorgeous inside and out. The service impeccable, staff extremely friendly and helpful. We scheduled a room at the Beach Club as we both enjoy the ocean environment. We were upgraded to a suite... more

It has been 14 years since my last visit, so it seemed weird that the entire resort has been rebuilt. The property is still gorgeous, and they have retained the old southern charm - we had a great time! The welcoming happy hour was a very nice addition. Our room was beautiful in the beach club but the services there... more

This was the second year in a row that we traveled to the Cloister. It was wonderful as always but some changes to economize were noticible. No longer are there butlers for each room--only the Cloister building. 100 Hudson is now serving a buffet breakfast --which was lovely but there was really not much of an alternative. The hotel was... more

This is a dream hotel. The decor is just wonderful. There is nothing cheap about this place. Everything is of the very best. It is gorgeous and the service is wonderful. I felt like a Queen for the 6 days I spend there with my daughter's family. Wonderful for children, and the grandmother too. The setting is just breathtaking. I... more
