When it comes to experiencing history up close and personal, there are not many things that can match a stay in a home preserved for that very reason. My wife and i enjoyed a pleasant and truly magical experience at the Claremont House in Rome, GA. From start to finish we were engulfed in a truly nostalgic, imagination run free,... More

I chose this type of lodging for the experience of staying in a 130 year old 8,000 sq ft mansion. The architectural features are exquisite and the wood floor is original. Its also full of lovely antique furniture and glassware which I really appreciate. The owners have thoughtfully placed informative placards throughout the house. Its a very enjoyable place to... This house is gorgeous and full of history. The owners were very friendly and hospitable. Our room was very cozy, with high ceilings and beautiful word work. The bathroom had a claw foot tub that was perfect for taking a hot bath after a long day of traveling. Breakfast the next morning was very yummy - pancakes, fruit and bacon... More

This is a beautiful old Victorian house, perched up a steep driveway above a main thoroughfare in Rome, Ga. My room had an elegant four-poster bed that was not only architecturally pleasing but very comfortable with super soft sheets. However, I have nits. My room was quite chilly/cold, with no heat on a 45 degree night and a comforter that... More

I recently stayed at the Claremont House B&B for a full weekend event with an organization I belong to. The site itself is beautiful; the house is well preserved, the décor inside is varied and interesting, and there are facts about the home placed around different rooms for history junkies. As a B&B, it’s amazing for each room to have... More

The Claremont house is a wonderful place to spend a weekend just getting away. The house is full of history and it's very close to downtown Rome. The rooms are lovely and super comfortable. One of the highlights is able to take a pipping hot bath in a real clawfoot tub. The food was absolutely fantastic, I could eat it... More

Chris and Holly are fantastic hosts and great cooks, even considering that I have celiac disease - which they kept in mind even better than my own boyfriend! The house is gorgeous, beautifully appointed and well-kept, packed with pieces of history in every nook and corner, and it keeps going and going! The beds were so comfortable it was hard... More

I'm a seasoned B&B'er and would rate the Claremont in the top 15% of Bed and Breakfasts (having stayed in B&B's in New England, Northwest and Appalachia). When considering other accommodations in Rome, Georgia the Claremont is in a class of its own.

I spent two nights in Claremont House B&B and very much enjoyed the stay, the house is very impressive and particularly enjoyed the French toast for breakfast. The owners have a nice relaxed style and assisted us greatly in exploring the best of the local area.
