Friendly staff couldn't make up for overall lousy food and only one choice of restaurants for meals (if you don't have a car.) Housekeeping service had no consistency (sometimes coffee cups and soap, sometimes not.) No room service, no help with luggage, no mail delivery( as in no FedEx on weekends.) Room windows open to main walkway, so I was... More

I took my family to Callaway Gardens to experience the light show we had heard so much about. We rented a villa which we had to wait until about 5:00 pm to enter. To kill time we went into the Gardens and experieinced the Birds of Prey Show which was fantastic. That evening we went to the Nights of Lights... More

Visited here for New Year's Eve getaway weekend. This property is essentially an old-school "motel" with outside access to rooms, which overlook parking lot, outdoor field, etc. Pros: - convenient access to main Callaway Gardens entrances - packaged offerings, including Christmas lights, fireworks - couple of onsite restaurants, bar, conference center - pet-friendly option - comfortable beds Cons: - unusually... My father actually use to work there when I was a kid, so I decided for Christmas I would take my kids to see fantasy in lights. I remember when I was a kid, going to summer camp at the lake, riding bikes through all the amazing trails, and even golfing the same greens Tiger Woods played on. So when... More

We did a one night Lights package on Christmas. Checkin was smooth sailing and the person who checked us in was wonderful. Our cabin was ready early in the afternoon and we were able to quickly get checked in. The cabin was really nice and was in relatively good shape. We really liked having the shuttle to the Lights. That... More

We've been to the gardens many times over the years. Until our last two trips, we have always enjoyed our visits. Last year, we had to wait three hours past check-in for our villa to become available. When you are planning to make dinner in the villa for your four small children, changing the check-in time from 3 to 6... More

Stayed in a cabin -- set up as a duplex but converted to a two-bedroom suite. Wonderful screened porch, nice sized rooms. Carpet, bedding, and paint all need to be touched up. Bathrooms were strange -- granite counters but peeling paint and cheap thin doors. Cabins are several miles from check-in, which always has long lines. Supposedly can call a... More

Overall a good experience. The weather did not cooperate with the rain but we still enjoyed the lights. We took the trolley which I would recommend unless you prefer the longer lines and for the tour to take more time. On the improvement side, the could have wiped the seats dry before loading to prevent wet bottoms.

We had booked here so as to celebrate our anniversary by taking in the Callaway Gardens Christmas Light Show. It goes without saying that the hotels raison d'etre is solely to accommodate visitors to the Gardens. The hotel has a very large lobby and needs it as it handles guests for the entire resort complex. Thus check in can be... More

Pros - the grounds are beautiful, the Fantasy in Lights show is top notch, the vendors at the Fantasy in Light show were all polite and quick, plenty to do and see on the grounds (zip lining, golf, butterfly garden, birds of prey show, spa, etc). Definitely check out the bird show - you can tell the staff members who... More
