The hosts are really friendly, great service and excelent food. Inga can cook like she never did anything else and Patrick shows you where to go on a daily basis! The tents look like 5-star hotel rooms and if you need anything you just need to ask. The environment is lovely and the camping is equiped with everything you need.... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
At last – a Kenyan-style safari lodge in western Europe! If you thought that camping means shivering in a sleeping bag on lumpy ground under a dripping wet canvas barely bigger than yourself, with just a charred stew-pot bubbling on a single calor-gas ring for comfort, and a hundred-metre dash to a communal toilet, think again! Take a look at the photo of our huge permanent tents, bigger than many an hotel room. You will see a sumptuous double bed, a full-size bathtub, sofa and coffee table, an inside toilet …. and plenty of room to stand up! In other words, ALL THE OPEN-AIR FREEDOM OF CAMPING, BUT WITH FIVE-STAR LUXURY. Outside and exclusively yours is a large covered wooden veranda with cooking facilities, and a lovely view over the river and the forested hills of the Serra da Lousã. We’re proud of our private river beach – it is close to unique. The water is crystal clear and plenty deep enough to swim – have you or your children ever swum in pure mountain water, untainted by salt or chlorine?; or play beach volley ball; or just stretch out on the golden sand – it will be very easy to imagine you are in the tropics (but we guarantee there are no crocs!). On a soft summer evening, enjoy a long soak in the bath with a good book, then hearty ‘bush tucker’ with wine on the veranda, finally allowing the gentle sounds and fragrances of nature to soothe you to sleep between crisp linen, rather than a sweaty sleeping bag! If you feel sociable, stroll up to the informal ‘Sunset Terrace’ for a convivial drink and/or meal in a cosmopolitan atmosphere, while watching the sun sink slowly behind the trees – or maybe pick some grapes straight off the vine! If you prefer your own company, we’ll be happy to bring your meal to you. We don’t promise lions or wildebeest, only relaxation, a bit of adventure and an exotic holiday you and your loved ones will never forget. ... more   less
