After a very stressful week, all we wanted was some food and somewhere to sleep, as we pulled into the car park at 8.30pm the gate opened and we were greeted with a smile and welcome, we discussed where to eat, they kindly telephoned the local pub to say we were coming over but might be a bit late, our... We stayed three nights at The Old Parsonage to wind down before returning to New Zealand after a very busy 6 week holiday in UK and Europe. We loved the house with its olde world charm and interesting history. Our hosts were very welcoming and our stay in The Green room was a wonderful experience with its four poster bed.... More

If it is possible to find the exact opposite of the chain hotels with their standardised room layouts and decor, this delightful B&B does it in spades. The whole ambience of this place is of good country living with welcoming hosts - who provide a pot of tea and biscuits on arrival and you have to love that touch. For... More

We stayed in the Red room and had a very comfortable night. The room is huge and the bathroom basic but more than adequate. This is very much 'country house' living and we loved it. The hosts were friendly, welcoming and helpful, but never intrusive. The breakfasts a wonderful treat; perfectly prepared. We loved it and will return.

My husband and I stayed for just one night in the blue room. The bed was very comfortable and the room full of character.our breakfast was great, the best scrambled eggs I have ever eaten. The only negative was the bathroom could have been cleaner. This said I would stay again and recommend the old parsonage.

This is a splendid B&B with loads of character, surrounded by a beautiful garden. We stayed for four nights - two nights in the 'green' room and two nights in the 'red' room. The red room is smaller, and the bathroom is a little cramped, but fine for two people. As there were three of us (my wife, daughter and... More

Don't expect your GPS to help you because it lands you at the other end of Main Street. Drive right at the other end by the cul de sac and the house is on the left - and what a house, mansion more like. It is under the aegis of English Heritage or some such and great efforts have been... More

Great little find via late rooms, on arrival you pull on to a lovely gravel driveway, I was greeted by the owner who welcomed me in and offered me a cup of tea (nice touch) and then showed me to my room, typical furniture for the period, decent enough size room, (I had the cheapest room) it is near the... We wished we could have stayed for longer. This is more like a small country house hotel than a B & B. The house is tastefully decorated and the atmosphere is very relaxed. Plenty of parking and situated on a nice quiet street. Our room and bathroom was huge and there is such a sense of space and tranquility to... More

We stayed at the Old Parsonage in November for one night. Greeted with a warm welcome from owners who provided coffee on arrival and a warm open fire in lounge. Lovely 4 poster bed in a Grade II listed building full of charm. Super full english breakfast. Perfect location to explore local attractions eg. Glastonbury, Bath. Owners gave great advice... More
