A comfortable and adequate hotel that met our needs for a place to stay and eat while we were exploring Nyungwe. We knew in advance that they do not accept credit cards but because of a bad experience with the car rental company in Kigale, we were now short on cash. We had plenty of money in the credit cards... The hotel options for Nyungwe are minimal, so this is the place you want to stay if you don't want to spend hundreds upon hundreds of dollars per night at a place down the street. The bathrooms are shared, so be ok with that. There is no internet or tv and the electricity tends to go out on a somewhat... More

This is a good value for money choice of accomodation. This is not a place for a romantic night. It's a place that gives you just what you need: a bed (single or double), a moskito net, hot shower & bathroom (FYI, not in the room) & food. The staff is wonderful, the food is good, its central location is... More

Staying at the comfortable an nice accommodation of the Gisakura Guest House (http://www.gisakuraguesthouse.com/) it is very nice to start trails like the Waterfall trail starting directly from the guest house, visiting the Nyungwe National Park, chimps tracking etc.. Serving each day a perfect local delicious meal by very nice personnel. Monkeys sometimes in the garden. A visit to the local... More

The price is right. We've stayed here at least 6 times now. The location beside the the park information/reception centre and the garden setting of this guest house are both EXCELLENT. Just outside the forest and next to tea plantations. No vehicle necessary for long walks, Colobus monkeys and a lovely hike to the waterfall. The guesthouse is very basic.... More

I stayed for two nights at the Gisakura Guest House in April 2014, paying 35,400 Rwandan francs (about 32 pounds sterling) per night for bed and breakfast. Overall, although I enjoyed my stay, I think the place is slightly overpriced, given its limited facilities. However, there are many positives to report. The location of the guest house, close to the... More

Gisakura is a comfortable lodge. Many hikes (Waterfalls tour) and bird tours begin here. My room was spacious and the shared bathroom is cleaned twice a day (although some days staff should have cleaned it more due to more guests traffic and a drainage problem in 1 of them). The receptionist, Eric, assisted me to arrive by moto to the... More

Gisakura Guest House is located at one "reception" for Nyungwe Forest national park, which is convenient. You can track colobus monkeys from here, but you must have a guide. The guest house is faily simple but staff is friendly and the food good. At least several of the persons working there spoke English. The room was simple but perfectly OK... More

This is a great place to stay for those of us who's not willing to spend USD 500 for a night in a posh lodge. There's not a whole lot of options in the area so you basically end up choosing between Nyungwe Forest Lodge or Gisakura Guest House. The Guest House is next door to the ranger station and... More

A great departure point to explore the wonders of Nyungwe Forest. A relaxed environment with clean room and most importantly warm and welcoming staff, particularly the engaging and thoughtful manager Sam. Great value for what it offers particularly compared to the other options.
