Recently spent a few days here and found myself wishing I could cut my stay short. My expectations were very high given the glowing reviews of the place. I found the building interesting and the setting lovely. Interestingly, the grounds of the place are not owned or maintained by the hotel so it cannot take credit for this big plus.... More

We toured the hotel with our guide being Sherry. She is so passionate about the rich history of the hotel and the area. What fantastic personal stories she told. We were lucky enough to be able to see the presidential suite as it was not rented. Beautiful! What a gem Jekyll. Island is. Don't miss it if you are in... More

Just stayed at the Jekyll Island Club again and thoroughly enjoyed it. Despite the somewhat uneven food at Grand Dining Room, we still had good experiences with the Club Cafe sandwiches and salads and the poolside hamburgers and a good Ahi tuna sandwich and excellent service. We also tried the Victorian Tea for the first time, and were pleasantly surprised.... More

What a special place! Between the magnificent grounds, spectacular architecture, 5 star service and the historical significance, the experience is unique. We stayed at Sans Souci in a lovely king room with our own entrance and porch, facing the river. We also visited several rooms in Crane, the Club and Cherokee. All are very nice with Crane being the most... More

I just stayed at the Jekyll Island Club for a conference. This is the second time I've stayed here for this annual environmental conference. I highly recommend staying here over the other hotel/motels on the island. There are very few places to eat or to entertain clients once the summer season ends. the Club has these available, and the services... More

I have stayed at Jekyll Island Club Hotel on several occasions and always enjoyed my stay. If you enjoy history and the charm of the architecture from the early part of the 1900's then this is the place. The staff has always been helpful and polite. The dining room was especially graceful with the live piano playing. The surrounding area... More

I didn't fall asleep during this history lesson of 19th century America. The grounds are magnificent and beautiful all on their own. We tried to experience as much of the island as we could in four days. The carriage ride was fun and gave us a good overview of the club. The museum was informative but fairly small. However, we... The history here is fascinating. Loved the island, it's winding bike paths, low development, and history! The island club was perfect. Breakfast in the dining room was wonderful. Loved the porch facing the creek--enjoyed spending quiet moments rocking. The only negatives were the Friday night live band at the pool--could here the music in my room and all the way... More

This hotel is from another era. It is also very relaxing and wonderfully peaceful. The staff is attentive and anxious to be helpful. The surroundings are most beautiful. History abounds in the area. Our trip was during the month of April and it was a quiet time when vacationers were enjoying the surroundings and the rocking chairs on the porch... More

The Jekyll Island Club Hotel is a US national park and all of the grounds are open to all visitors. The US taxpayer also maintains the grounds. Our room was small, with heavy furniture, and one chair. Therefore the room could not be used for anything save sleeping. We paid extra for a river view, which was visible from the... More
