After hiking for hours through the cold, windy rain of a mid-spring day, the Inn was literally a beacon of shelter in the midst of a storm! Knowing now, what I didn't know then, I'd hike ten more miles to stay there again! The Inn was everything we expected it to be and nothing less. The bunk rooms are just... More

This place is such a fun and unique getaway. Not quite a hotel, not quite camping. The hike there was lovely and it was more enjoyable to hike without having to carry all of our food and tents, as we would if we were camping. The family-style meals are perhaps not ideal if you are an introvert or there for... More

The hike to the lodge is gorgeous. Several scenic vistas, varied and beautiful flowers and vegetation along the way. You cross several small creeks - love the sound of water in the mountains. And then the view when you arrive at the inn is also very beautiful. It is a quiet rest spot in the nature, except for ... see... More

This was a unique experience, we have hiked up to MT. Leconte in Tennessee for the past 7 years in a row and this place is very similar, great views and very caring people who run the place. The meals were excellent and the peace and quiet is great. We enjoyed the tour of the place and the evening presentation... More

My coworkers & I decided to try the hike inn based on another coworker's experience. I walk a paved trail on a daily basis, but hiking with a pack is a little bit different. The view from different points on the trail were absolutely beautiful& many cool breezes to cheer you on! The rooms were adequate, the food was great... More

My husband and I go up to the Hike Inn every few months. I love the hike up the mountain, and if you want, you can take the Appalachian Approach Trail instead of the Hike Inn trail. We like to take the approach trail up and the Hike Inn trail down. I love the food at dinner and breakfast. I... More

It's an absolutely perfect place, assuming you understand that it's not Days Inn or its ilk. You have to hike five (easy) miles on well groomed trails to get there. You sleep in a bunk bed, though in your private room, and the restrooms and showers are in a separate building connected by a covered walkway. Food is served family... More

The Hike Inn is an enjoyable and unique experience, with very friendly staff and good food. However, folks planning to go should be aware of a few things. First, it is not an easy hike, so be prepared. there is a lot of both up and down on a relatively rough trail. Rain, which we encountered on this trip, makes... More

I have been fortunate enough to go to the Hike Inn 7 times. The first two visits were with my wife, and the last five were overnight field trips with 5th and 6th graders. As a couples retreat, the Hike Inn provides a wonderful means to leave it all behind and put you and your spouse in an environment that... More

We had an excellent stay at the Hike Inn. Their conservation efforts are interesting and admirable and while the weather wasn't ideal, we still had a fantastic experience. It was a beaufitul, well maintained trail to a clean picturesque location. Rooms were nice, although walls are a little thin. Overall a really cool experience. Keep up the great work!!
