Our stay was part of a trip that included Charleston and savannah. We selected the Darien Waterfront Inn b/c it was close to the ferry to Sapelo. Darien turned into a great two day interlude. We biked at jekyll Isle and kayaked the Altahama River and rice canals. Our stay was relaxing- and everything about the Inn was positive. Comfortable,... More

My husband and I stopped in Darien, Ga while on vacation two weeks ago and what a super time. A quaint little town with the nicest people. We stayed at the Waterfront Inn, in the Ocean Breeze Room. Although the new owner is still renovating and updating, It was nicely decorated, clean, quaint, a front porch facing the waterfront, The... More

We planned the weekend getaway to explore Sapelo and kayak. The inn is right on the main square area right next to the waterfront. You can walk to restaurants, wine bar, shopping, and outdoor adventure shop for kayaking. Skippers is a great restaurant with very nice people, which is right outside your front door on the waterway. It is a... More

Spent a weekend at the Darien Waterfront Inn and loved every minute of our stay. The inn is situated on a bluff overlooking the Darien River and every room has two chairs on the very spacious and shady deck overlooking the river and miles of beautiful marshland, and is steps away from several great restaurants. Our innkeeper was very welcoming... More

Stayed at the Inn for a leisurely peaceful get away weekend. Was underwhelmed by the condition of the room (Ocean Breeze). The shower was cobbled together with raw wood exposed and poor lighting. Upon initial entry, we considered leaving, but decided to brave the conditions and stay. The innkeeper was polite enough, but clearly not sure how to interact with... More

Nestled amoung a rebuilding town sits the Darien Waterfront Inn. Don't let the outside fool you as the charm of this Inn rests in the large, comforable, clean rooms and the hospitality showered upon us by the Innkeeper JoAnn. She provided us with good food to start the day and offered advice on eating options and attractions for the day.... More

I called the Inn on our way from Cape Cod to Florida, with a friend, and although the room with the 2 beds was taken, JoAnn offered to put a twin bed (not a cot) in the only available room. We were overwhelmed by the friendliness and hospitality extended to us on our brief visit! The Inn is a fresh... More

We stayed three days and thoroughly enjoyed the gracious, unobtrusive service, delicious breakfast, comfortable room, and lovely porch. The location allows easy access to wonderful birding and natural settings of the Altamaha Waterfowl Management Area, Harris Neck NWR, Blackbeard NWR, canoeing or kayaking on the Darien and Altamaha Rivers and more. It is an easy drive to St. Simons or... More

The room was clean and comfortable. The host was professional and friendly. She actually made us sandwiches for an outdoor outing which was not included in the reservation. This facility was our second choice but will be our first in the future.

We stayed at the Darien Waterfront Inn in the early part of March 2011. We had a great time as the location was right in the center of the town and we could walk to dinner at night or walk around the town. The rooms all have a deck off the back with a great view of the nearby bridge.... More
