We enjoyed our 2 night visit to Darien. Enough to see locally and decent restaurant on the quayside but best bit was the laid back and relaxed welcome in this beautiful old house. Facilities fine (liked the porch and the pool) but the warm friendly laid back welcome made our stay. Thoroughly recommend. Thanks Zach and Carrie

Open Gates B&B is a gem in the small town of Darien, GA. With its central location next to the town square, the comfortable and spacious rooms, and the wonderful and indulgent hospitality of the innkeeper, Zach, it was the perfect home base for our trip to the southern Georgia coast. First and foremost, Open Gates B&B excels in its... More

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at the Open Gates B & B. The hosts, Zach and Carrie, made our weekend stay very pleasant. Zach, a terrific chef, made special accommodations for my dietary restrictions, which I greatly appreciated. This location is tops. You can walk all around the Darien waterfront, and beautiful Vernon Square is just... More

We had a fantastic time in the low country! Zach and Carrie were great hosts. They recommend some great restaurants and other local places. We walked down to the waterfront and had some delicious meals. None were better, however, than Zach's incredible breakfast fare. We also loved having the pool to cool off in at the end of the day.

My husband and I stayed at Open Gates on July 9-12 and had a wonderful time. Zach and Carrie are the nicest people and made us feel very welcome in their home. We stayed in the Island Room and everything about the room and bathroom was perfect. We enjoyed lounging in the pool and it was always so quiet and... More

Zach and Carrie sincerely went out of their way to make sure my wife and I had a nice stay at Open Gates. It was our first time staying at a B&B, and I think they've set a pretty high bar. They know the town and can assist you with info or contacts in the area, of course. The room... More

Originally headed to Savannah B&B but too tired so stopped at Darien Welcome Center at Outlet Mall and found this gem of B&B. Zach and Carrie, the owners, have 5 rooms two rooms are shared bath. Of the 5, I love the Blue Room. I liked it so much, I booked it again on my return trip. Another reason I... More

Zach and Carrie the new owners of Open Gates B & B, located on Vernon Square in historic Darien, were great hosts for our two night visit to the area. The home has been well cared for and is a great choice for a quiet get away in southeast Georgia. With history in town such as Vernon Square and Fort... More

You can feel the beautiful age of the home. A welcome feeling as we walked through the door. Comfortable rooms and beds, delicious breakfast, pool time was great. Mr. Rath & Carrie May were gracious host and hostess. This will be one of my families most valued memories.

We stayed 5 nights with host and hostess Zack and Carrie in their historic house on Vernon Square, which was the old center of the city of Darien in Georgia. We particularly enjoy staying at any Bed and Breakfast where we can chat with the owners as if they were friends of old, and this was the way we felt... More
