I stayed here for about ten days and found it to be less of a hostel and more of a bed and breakfast. I stayed with three other people in one of the upstairs bedrooms but had plenty of space, especially since there are places to go around the hostel with couches, books, and plenty of room to spread out.... We were two couples regrettably only staying one night at the Hikers Hostel, but we had a great stay. We had one of the double rooms and two bunk beds. As we had a very long flight the day after and really needed to sleep we booked four bunk beds to get the room to our selves. However, as no... More

Stayed here for several days on vacation, we stayed in one of the large bedrooms. It was like staying at a B&B, the breakfast was served family style home cooked and delicious. Bed was comfy piled with quilts, front porch lined with rocking chairs. Communal living room but you could just go in the bedroom for privacy. Another bedroom was... More

My husband and I came to Dahlonega to slack pack a section of the AT. We planned our trip about 2 months in advance and tried to find the best deal for the money. We ultimately settled on Holiday Inn Express, made the reservations and waited it out. One week before, I went to the visit Dahlonega page and found... More

Me, my dog and a friend stayed at the hostel which felt more like a resort the night before a weekend hike. They picked us up at unicoi and even though we were late and the guy had to wait 30 minutes on us he couldn't have been nicer. The rooms are very nice and everything is extremely clean. We... More

My wife and I are training for an Ironman triathlon. We have stayed at the Hiker Hostel twice. We are both training for Ironman France. We stayed at the Hiker Hostel because of the biking. We literally can ride directly from the hostel and choose 6 mountain gaps to climb. The hostel has bunk rooms that sleep about 4 each... More

Josh and Leigh, Derek and Shannon were excellent hosts! Our visit was one of the top 5 in our vacation experiences! Their new container units are beautiful. The breakfast every morning was delicious and it was interesting to talk with all the different people and to hear all their stories.

This was our second stay at the hostel. From the last time (Oct 2012) until now (Apr 2014) they have added 3 private rooms. The rooms have wood floors, private shower, double beds, microwave, coffee pots, and mini refrigerators. Breakfast is included and is served hot every morning. They offer pickup and drop off service at many points on the... More

Just spent the weekend with the Hiker Hostel, and it was a great time. They're a top notch B&B that just happens to cater to outdoors people. Miles away from any other hostel I've ever seen, and a huge asset to anyone considering an AT hike. Everyone on staff can answer any question you have because they're all travelers and... More
