Great hospitality - owners are fabulous! Great food! Exceptional lodging experience for hikers! Like a B&B for hikers! The owners put so much into the hostel and give hostel a whole new meaning! They are very knowledgeable of hiking and the area. The hostel has books and some things that you can purchase. Breakfast was exceptional. Very clean, homey environment.... More

This was my first stop for a zero on my section hike of the Appalachian trail ! I was more than impressed to say the least! They picked us up at woody gap and showed us around the area that we would be staying! Great community room(s) and even had a kitchen you could cook in for yourself or your... More

The Hiker Hostel owners are not only gracious as hosts but genuinely pleasant. When I got there with my wife I was greeted by the owner Joshua. He asked if he could help me. I gave him my name and asked where to register. It rather shocked me as I am use to whipping out the ole CC and ID... More

A friend and I recently used the services of the Hiker Hostel to get on the trail for a hike of the GA section of the AT. We dropped my car at the ending trailhead and then stayed over to start the approach trail up Springer Mtn the next day. We had a very nice, clean room with private bath.... More

My friend and I did a mini road trip and found this treasure of a place! We felt right at home here, very comfortable, and VERY clean! We did some hiking and had an adventure finding waterfalls and quaint towns nearby. Lots of wonderful people! Can't wait to go back!

This is a wonderful hostel for thru hikers or for those who want to do some day hikes on the Appalachian Trail. There are bunks for $18, private rooms, a cabin, and my favorite: the container lodging for $55. The containers are compact but well equipped with microwave, frig, and coffee pot. There are 2 private decks as well as... More

I visited the Hiker Hostel twice in April 2015. I feel as though I was the only person there who wasn't a hiker, but everyone I came into contact with was very friendly on both stays. My reason for visiting was because I had two major tests to take at the local university to finish grad school and I wanted... More

Whether you are planning a thru-hike or are a section hiker this hostel second to none for its comfort and amenities. The moment you step into this rustic hostel you enter a portal into another realm of accommodations. Great find! Didn't know what to expect as my fellow hiker booked the hostel. WOW!! Beautiful place, deck, fire pit, supplies, clean sheets, great breakfast! Terrific staff runs the place with organization, helpfulness and friendly personalities. We chose to start our AT hike from here and it was a great decision. The price is fantastic and the value - better.... More

This place has everything a hiker would want. Beds are not just mats that you put your own sleeping bag on...real beds with sheets and pillow cases. Private rooms also available. They are extremely organized in their shuttle services, and are willing to shuttle day packers to and from the trail. Breakfast is served on time with many hot delicious... More
