This summer, my mother, my kids (ages 10 and 7) and I were lucky enough to visit Greyfield Inn for their Island Family Camp. We had always wanted to see Cumberland island but wanted the kids to experience the island with us. For two weeks in the summer, the Long Family from Tennessee runs a day camp for the kids... More

This trIp was not a good experience. We spent 240.00 thinking we would get a tour of the Inn and the island. Our tour guide was less than interested in us when she found out we were "day trippers". She was bored to death and told us very little about the inn. We were treated like unwelcome guests by the... More

Let me address some of the items in the reviews that I have just read. I seriously have to question if these reviews are real or or from staff members. I visited there recently and the horses are emaciated, ribs showing, and we saw a young one dying in the sun in agony. Not a pretty sight. These are animals... More

This is the sort of place I thought only existed in dreams and fantasy. I stayed here twice -- once as a hotel guest for a weekend vacation and the other time when I had my wedding at the inn. Both experiences were absolutely magical. First, the location of the inn is just insanely gorgeous. It is the only hotel... More

This is truly the place to go to if you want to feel like you've just stepped into another world and have no choice but to let someone else do everything for you. My husband brought me here as an anniversary surprise and I'm so glad he did! The ambiance here is wonderful. Everything is decorated in early American fashion,... More

You are SO in for a treat if you make your way here. It is a divine place to let go of technology, enjoy rustic charm, eat clean food, and take a nap on huge porch upon a cozy swing. If you are looking to be slow and feel nourished, this is the place. Bikes and trails and beach and... More

Our second trip this year to Greyfield Inn. This time we stayed in the Cottage instead of the main house. Both have their advantages. Main house is obviously closer to all the amenities and dinning. The cottage offers much more privacy. Cottages rooms and bathrooms appear to be larger as well. We walked out to 11 wild horses on the... More

Step back in time when you board the Lucy R Ferguson ferry to Cumberland Island. The Greyfield Inn graciously accommodates their guests with heavenly beds, delicious food, wonderful scenery and many activities. The staff and naturalist guide were very knowledgeable about the Carnegie 100 year ownership of the island, but were poorly informed about the 100 years before the Carnegies.... More

Our 3-day stay with 4 teens and pre-teens was perfect. Some could read on the porch, others threw a frisbee on the beach and others rode bikes around the island. I never felt the kids were unsafe (and I'm usually a bit paranoid). Staff at the Inn were all wonderful, without exception. They say "Our home is your home" and... More

We are staying on Amelia Island for the week and decided to do some one day trips. You can do the state one day trip from St. Marys, but you are on your own for food and water. We decided to pay the expense for the Greyfield one day tour. You catch their ferry at Fernandina Marina in Historic Old... More
