Our 3-day stay with 4 teens and pre-teens was perfect. Some could read on the porch, others threw a frisbee on the beach and others rode bikes around the island. I never felt the kids were unsafe (and I'm usually a bit paranoid). Staff at the Inn were all wonderful, without exception. They say "Our home is your home" and... More

We are staying on Amelia Island for the week and decided to do some one day trips. You can do the state one day trip from St. Marys, but you are on your own for food and water. We decided to pay the expense for the Greyfield one day tour. You catch their ferry at Fernandina Marina in Historic Old... More

This is a not inexpensive (ok very expensive) getaway. But if you can afford it worth every penny. This is an island originally owned by the Carnegies who build various winter mansions. The Greyfield is one which is now an inn run by their descendants. 98% of the island is a national park. It's an amazing experience from when they... More

Just returned from a 2 night stay at the Greyfield Inn. We read all the positive reviews before going and knew NOT to expect luxury, even though the Inn does promote itself as a romantic, luxurious Inn. Positives: the staff (with the exception of the Lucy Ferguson crew and captain who were silent and non smiling), were sweet and helpful.... More

3 night stay concluded on Memorial Day Weekend. Service was exceptional and friendly, and they blend in almost like family. Despite the overall youth of the staff, they sought to please at every turn. All were great. Large Cottage stay was great, well maintained and very comfortable for our party, large common area with coffee, tea and fridge w drinks,... More

We spent three nights and two full days at the Greyfield Inn on Cumberland Island. It was the perfect amount of time to sample the island. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We tend to be luxury travelers, but we don't require a lot of attention. The Greyfield Inn was perfect for our requirements. You definitely have to be the sort of... More

They Greyfield Inn is everything that you read about and more, though you will have to be the judge for yourself to determine if it's worth the price. It is not cheap. We stayed in the Porch Suite for 2 nights and paid close to $1,500 including the 20% service fee. What everyone says in the reviews is true. The... More

My husband I recently 3 nights at Greyfield Inn and it was truly an experience of a lifetime . We felt we had stepped back in time to a beautiful by gone era. Everything and everyone was perfect . We stayed in the Big Cottage and even though it was somewhat hard to leave the big house after dinner we... More

We stayed two nights in late April, and loved it here. I'll be honest. Before we reserved, my husband was nervous that it would be stuffy (given the sports coats at dinner rule) and that he wouldn't enjoy it. But his reaction upon seeing the wild horses (including a foal) grazing on the grounds was fantastic, and as the hours... More

Our wonderful experience began the moment we stepped onto the "Lucy Ferguson" ferry for a very scenic and pleasant ride to Cumberland Island. The staff was excellent: young, professional, and non-intrusive. Our luggage was handled from the moment we arrived at the Fernandina Beach dock, delivered to our room, then picked up and returned to the dock upon departure. We... More
