This gorgeous old home is not for everyone- built in 1901, it has four floors and no elevator, and creaky plumbing and floors, and slippery iron tubs to bathe in...but if you love Nature and meeting people and quietude, you will enjoy beautiful Cumberland Island and this gracious inn. The 20% 'service charge' added by the inn to each night's... More

My six year old daughter wanted to see wild horses so we planned a trip to Cumberland Island. What a great trip. The planning was made easy by the Greyfield's registration coordinator Pam. We saw the wild horses each day we were there. The Inn has such a great history as well. The kitchen modified the menu numerous times for... More

You can read the reviews here on TripAdvisor or look at Greyfield Inn's website to get a feel for how wonderful this place is. So I am not going to repeat what is already obvious. What I do want to review is the staff. They are the ones that make a spectacular Inn even better. And what a delight each... More

We had high expectations of Greyfield Inn, given it's reputation, and I'm glad to say we weren't disappointed. Our rooms in the cottages, situated slightly away from the main house, were simple, but comfortable and well-furnished. The breakfasts, packed-lunches, and evening meal were lovely, dressing smartly for dinner wasn't the faff I feared, and it was fantastic meeting and chatting... More

Enjoyed boat ride to island. Staff super nice. Enjoyed tour of house history and gossip. Important to have guide to give up all info. Definitely take out the bikes and cruise the island. At the old ruins the park service had a toll free # u can call that will give u the history at that marker #. Genius. Dinner... More

First the bad news, its somewhat expensive. Now the good news - The staff of the Grayfield Inn are some of the most welcoming people you will ever meet. It was an amazing experience. The Inn is one of a kind. The landscape with the horse, wildlife and live oaks is truely amazing. What I liked best was there are... More

We are still talking about our wonderful stay last week. At Greyfield they think of so many ways to make your stay perfect that it would take a volume to list them!! We especially enjoyed the wonderful staff, naturalist tours, and pressed coffee in the morning. Cumberland Island is a truly magical place that we feel privileged to have visited,... More

A wonderful get-away for our 25th wedding anniversary, posing at the altar of the church John John Kennedy was married in. Service was excellent with everyone, baggage handlers, servers, tour guide & bartenders. Our top floor room was cozy, comfortable and large. Our dinners were delicious and our fellow diners quite interesting. For lunch we ate whenever and wherever we... More

We stayed in one of the private cabins with another couple. I can't tell you how much we enjoyed our stay. Each morning we crossed the lawn for breakfast and saw wild horses roaming freely. After breakfast we would read on the porch in swinging beds or play a game or explore this island on bikes. The hotel staff provides... More

Imagine walking on a beach or in a wooded canopy for miles and miles and miles and not see another person. However, you may run into an occasional horse, turkey, pig, or deer. This must be what the coast of Georgia and northern Florida looked like to the early pioneers. We had a fabulous time "escaping" to a by-gone era.... More
