Booked this hotel at the last second with Priceline. Took a while to find is not actually in cordele Georgia. Driving up to its gaurd gate where there is no longer a gaurd you are instead met by the local thug vagabond population fishing for their supper. While checking in I was told that I have to pay the "resort... More

This was our first time to stay at Lake Blackshear Resort. We stayed over the Fourth of July in the main lodge. The lodge had a very musty smell and the room seemed to have a dampness to it. However the rooms were very clean, the bed was comfortable, and housekeeping had clean towels in our room everyday. The staff... More

Having visited before in 2005, planned our family vacation at the resort. Overall location and activities are great being on a lake and part of a state park. However guests can do whatever they want. The management did not seem to care our neighbors were drunk and fighting at 2:00 am and 2 calls to the front desk did to... More

I did not expect to find a resort / getaway of this caliber in southern Georgia. The resort is located in the beautiful Georgia Veterans Memorial State Park. The park, with its golf course and small veterans memorial museum would be enough of a draw but the resort was a very unexpected surprise. We stayed in a villa. Our small... More

Spent four nights here. The beds were comfortable but doubles are tough to get used to. The in room refrigerator was more than a bit noisy so the sound machine was very handy indeed. Nice clean room with clean bath. The main drawback was that the water got warm, NOT hot. I like hot water not baby bath warm. Other... More

We saw a Groupon for this resort, and decided to make it into a weekend getaway. We didn't know what to expect, but were very glad to find the resort to be clean, hospitable, and inviting. Our room was in one of the cottages and had a fantastic view of the lake. We enjoyed renting a pontoon boat and cruising... More

We were driving on I-75 through south Georgia and spotted a billboard advertising Lake Blackshears Resort. We decided to drive to it & check it out. We were glad we did - we decided to stay a night instead of continuing on. It was off season, so the price was a little lower but even the in season price wasn't... More

This resort has a lovely lake, the villas are very nice with great views. Nice nature trails easy for the whole family. We didn't do the train but it looked like it would be fun. Very close to Plains/ Carter site. Also close to historic Andersonville prison. Did I say it was dog friendly....first dog free, she really enjoyed the... More

We stayed at the Lake Blackshear Resort one night. The hotel location is gorgeous. Great sunset. Would love to go back for a couple of days to explore the park, maybe rent a boat. For folks that cannot go up/down stairs please be aware that there are no elevators in the villas. Ask for a room on the ground floor.... More

I was ready to give a 4 star review until I came across some housekeeping issues. We stayed in the Villas. Pros: Rooms were spacious with 2 dbl beds, 2 desks, a mini refrig, and a screened in porch with 2 chairs and a table and a nice view of the lake. The updated bath area was great with a... More
