After driving for more than 14 hours, you could imagine our need to settle into a relaxing, clean room, which is anything but what we found in room #226. First of all, there was a dirty towel hanging behind the bathroom door. As if that was not bad enough, every time the toilet was flushed, the pipes rattled so loudly, we thought there was construction going on next door. In the non-smoking room, the bathroom smelled like smoke and there were cigarette holes burned into the bedspread. To top it off, there was mold growing in the air conditioning unit. I suffer with allergies, and was not able to sleep properly all night. When I reported these problems to the front desk the next morning, the woman at the front desk was not understanding nor sympathetic at all. In fact, she was plain rude. She offered to give me a $5.00 discount off the $85.00 a night room, which was practically an insult. We had stayed at the Days Inn Lake City Mall the night before, for only $55.00 a night... more
