We had a warm welcome and an excellent breakfast - Watcarrick is a very good base for visitors to the Tibetan monastery. Look out for a sign to Watcarrick, not B&B, on the road as you approach. Warmly recommended for couples or families.

I was looking for somewhere to stay after visiting Samye Ling Tibetan Monastery for the day. There were few places to choose from in the area and Watcarrick was full! However, when Jock heard my plight, he offered me his attic room. It was not as small as he indicated and really nicely decorated. I had a tasty meal in... More

We stayed here for a local Burns dinner which was being held at the Eskdalemuir Hub. Watcarrick is a fantastic house with spacious rooms and a great breakfast room with an aspect window to look out off whilst eating the freshly baked scones and drinking hot black coffee that is just part of the huge breakfast you can expect here.... Has to be the best B&B in Dumfries and Galloway for many reasons. The welcome from hosts Jock & Roz is second to none. The accommodation is excellent clean and tidy. The home cooked breakfast in the morning was first class! The scenery is stunning. There are also lots of things to do in the area. There is a new... More

My wife and I, together with my sister and her husband, stayed at Watcarrick for three nights in Oct 2014. We arrived by taxi since we were not comfortable driving a rental car on the opposite side of the road as we do in the USA. We were made immediately at home by our wonderful hosts, Jock and Roz. They... More

This is simply the most amazing place, amazing hosts and hospitality. In an extremely peaceful and beautiful setting, we wanted for absolutely nothing during our stay. Comfort, attention to detail and kindness abounds. A fabulous breakfast overlooking stunning scenery was the most wonderful combination. Thank you so much. We'll be back. Shena

The Watcarrick B&B in Eskdalemuir was perfect. I had booked 3 nights to stay while I was down working at the Eskdalemuir Observatory. I stayed in the family room which was en-suite. It had one double and one single bed, comfy sofa and tea and coffee making facilities. Free Wifi was available as well. The en-suite was spotlessly clean with... More

We stayed here in August 2013 after a visit to Samye Ling. On arrival we were met by Jock who made us very welcome. My sons (aged 4 and 9) were excited because the website mentioned that a “water rocket” was available for use. Jock set it up for them and they had great fun firing the rocket and also... More

This B & B tucked away in Eskdalemuir is definitely a place we stay again. We stayed in the en suite family room which was very clean and comfortable and had beautiful views. Great place to stay with children. Our hosts were fantastic and we were made to feel like part of the family. Breakfast provided lots of choice and... More
