We had a family event rescheduled on short notice and needed a room for 4. This place was a pleasant surprise after viewing other establishments in the area. The host was up to welcome us late at night and showed us to our room to be sure we were happy with it. We were treated like VIPs initially, then like... More

We had an impromptu stay at Mountain Aire one night when we were looking for a room near Clayton. Frank was a gracious and accommodating host! Our visit was pleasant and enjoyable, and we look forward to staying here another time if we ever pass through again.

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at Mountain Aire for the weekend of July 25th. We met Frank, the owner, and Midnight the kitty upon our arrival and found them to be warm and welcoming, especially Midnight! Our room was clean, comfortable, and well equipped. We spent the first part of the evening Friday on the porch... More

My son and I were visiting colleges in the States and planned a white water rafting trip in the Clayton area, after a day of tubing in Helen, Georgia. We found Frank and the Mountain Aire Cottages online ( while in Japan) and booked based on the wonderful reviews. Frank welcomed us on our arrival and made us feel special which... More

What can I say that hasn't already been said? On July 18, 2014, we spent the night in one of Frank's "motel" rooms, but as I told him, it was more than a motel room - it was a work of art, and a labor of love. The price was more than reasonable ($89), considering the beauty and comfort we... More

We stay in hotels all over the world including luxury properties like the Ritz Carlton. Obviously Mt Aire Cottages in Clayton is not the Ritz Carlton on South Beach in Miami but in a way its sort of a Ritz Carlton experience in quaint beautiful North Georgia.Frank, the owner, has carefully built several rooms and cottages in a quiet treed... My sister and I were on a camping and hiking trip when there was a huge thunderstorm while we were out hiking. The storm dropped a huge amount of rain in a short time. Our campsite was in about 4 inches of water when we returned. Luckily our belongings were all still dry. We found a different campsite and proceeded... More

My husband's family held a family reunion over the 4th of July weekend at nearby Black Rock State Park in Clayton GA and my husband and I wanted to stay somewhere not so commercialized. The pictures on Mountain Aire's website were very appealing and the website was very inviting and informative. The dear Aunt that keeps us all together wanted... More

Having looked at the accommodation on the strip, the less said the better. So, asking around, we alighted upon the Mountain Aire cabins just a mile outside of Clayton. Frank, the owner, is what you might say 'old school' American hospitality is all about and quite literally nothing was too much trouble (he even printed our boarding passed for out... More

After a long day of motorcycling across North Carolina and north Georgia, coming into Clayton late in the afternoon, it was wonderful to check into the Mountain-Aire and relax. Frank welcomed us to his property and made feel right at home. The room we had was clean and well appointed and our bed was extremely comfortable. It was also a... More
