This was the perfect spot for a quiet midweek getaway for our anniversary. It was conveniently located for the type of laid back adventure we were seeking. Shopping, hiking, wine tasting, and general relaxation. The owner, David Darugh, and his staff were friendly, accommodating, and helpfuf in helping us decide on things to do and see while we were in... more

The Beechwood Inn is a lovely place to stay! The hospitality of both David and Gayle made our stay very relaxing and cozy, too! The dinner on Saturday night was exquisite and the pace of the meal was very ralaxing and enjoyable! David and Gayle do a wonderful job of making you feel welcome but yet not intruding on you... more

We love everything about the Beechwood Inn--so much so that my husband surprised me with a return trip exactly one year after our first visit. David and Gayle (and their sweet dog, Scupper) are the warmest of hosts, incredibly knowledgeable about the local culture and wines in the area. They are attentive to every detail, ensuring your comfort and enjoyment... more

The Beechwood Inn is in a lovely, rustic, historic structure up on a hill that overlooks Clayton. The gardens are beautiful and the large porch is relaxing and restful which was perfect for my mid-week visit. The common areas are comfortable and furnished with touches that are unique to the area and really interesting. My second floor room was large... more

The Beechwood Inn is the perfect place to relax and enjoy being away from home. We found ourselves reading on our porch at treetop level while enjoying a beautiful view of Black Rock Mountain. We toured a local winery and enjoyed a wine tasting with artisan cheeses, browsed some quaint shops, took a few short hikes to visit beautiful waterfalls... more

Beechwood Inn is a relaxing delight. The creative interior touches are unique and whimsical---well-done. The cuisine for the evening meal and brunch was 5-star. Wine pairings were a tasty surprise. All innkeepers should have the down-to-earth charm and panache as David and Gayle. We are eager to return! more

My husband and I traveled recently to the Beechwood Inn in Clayton, Ga. to particpate in their Wild Foods Banquet and we also stayed overnight. We went because we wanted to learn about wild foods but we were blown away by the delicious 5 course gourmet meal prepared under David's direction. The inn is in a beautiful and tranquil setting... more

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Beechwood Inn and have raved about it since our return to Atlanta. This is one of the best times we've had at a bed and breakfast. The suites were cosy and comfortable and the service was excellent.. Saturday evening the owners, David and Gayle, with an intern's help, prepared a superb dinner... more

We have stayed at B&Bs all over the country, and this is the best overall. Beautiful old lodge with elegant decor (wonderful bamboo towels and silky sheets) and the best breakfast ever. (We had eggs from free range chickens, grits locally ground from heirloom corn, locally squeezed apple juice, wonderful banana pancakes). Stay for the special Saturday night dinner: beyond... more
