My husband, our daughter, her best friend and I visited the Cohutta Lodge today to check it out as a potential location for our daughter's upcoming wedding. We had seen their website (the pictures were lovely), but also read the not-so-great food/lodging reviews. We thought we'd better check the place out before going any further with the wedding plans. The... More

I have read some of the reviews on here about how awful this place is, but I have been many times and it is a real nice place. What seems to be the problem is that not everyone realizes that this is a "very" secluded lodge. Miles from gas, shopping, and restaurants. The place is beautiful, the all you can... More

At last Cohutta Lodge is meeting up to its potential. The million dollar view plus the new ownership, staff and buildings make this place the oasis it was meant to be. Fantastic. I agree with the old reviews. But that was then and this is now. Thank goodness for change. The difference is like night and day. It's worth revisiting... More

Tried to have dinner on Tuesday, the Lodge was closed. I spoke to a manager/owner, named Mallory, over the weekend and said to come on up. Arrived there and the place was "closed". I have heard some great things, but this is poor advise from an "owner". We will try again, perhaps on the weekend.

The worst food and the worst host I have ever met. The man (... said he was the manager/owner) was rude and utterly down right nasty. We gave him our name on the list, waited 2 hours and other people who came after us, was seated before us. We spoke to this Host, and again he was rude. So we... More

cold personnel, horrible food and nasty rooms, what a shame that a beautiful place on the outside is so poorly run on the inside..... we will never go back and keep anyone we know from going there either!!

My husband and I elected to get married in a small church in Ellijay, GA. We planned to spend the first night of our married life at the beautiful (on the exterior) Cohutta Lodge. Our wedding went well and most people found the church ok. At the reception we were so involved with our friends and families we never got... More

I just returned from a relaxing dinner at The Cohutta Lodge. It is a beautifully first class facility nestled atop the National Forests surrounding Chatsworth, GA. The menu was first class with reasonably priced entree's one would expect from an upscale menu. The view is absolutely breathtaking. They offer several services for corporate accomodations and meetings also. The lodge was... More

The views are incredible but, if you are planning on staying in the hotel - look elsewhere. The heated indoor pool had a low temperature. Said management "everyone has been complaining about that but the kids don't care - we turn the heat on in the winter". Well, if it's cold, turn the heater on! The bathtub drain didn't work.... The setting is magnificent; the rooms were clean and adequate, but not luxurious; the food and dining service were excellent, though expensive; the desk staff and hotel management were rude and surly, exactly the opposite of the advertised "warm and discreet southern hospitality"! Also, contrary to the brochure pictures, there is no place to sit in the room except on... More
