We went for a week to the Driftwood Resort as it was fairly close to our home and we needed to be closeby. We read the reviews which were mixed but we loved it there. It is an historic place and has the original building as well as newer ones. It was fun exploring the older buildings. We had 2... More

The buildings are from a bygone time, don't expect a lot of amenities. I had no problem getting Wi-fi from our room. Mall, Walmart and other restaurants are in town, 10 min away. Most of the nearby restaurants and shops are expensive but the one on the property is moderately priced for lunch and dinner and the food is good..... More

We managed to stay 1 night of the 7 that we paid for. We decided to pay for another hotel rather than to stay the full time here. The staff didn't seem to care. I don't enjoy writing bad reviews (see my reviews), but this place is a potential vacation wrecker. We "won" this week vacation as a donation from... More

I' m sorry you did not like the room that you booked with an outside timeshare exchange company. We were notified by that company of the room you reserved and that is what was given to you. The room had a queen bed and queen sleep sofa, a full kitchen and bathroom. The weekend you checked in we were full... More

After 3 decades of decent experiences (a few not so good) but mostly good or better, this year a total disaster! The WiFi is unusable, got nothing but excuses as to why, differing depending on whom you asked. I have to work from vacation and rely on the WiFi it was so bad I had to drive 100 miles north... We are sorry you had a bad experience with the wifi on the property. While you were here we had many people who had no problem with connecting and staying on line and doing whatever they wanted to do. We have 9 buildings on the property of varying levels and there are some areas that receive a better signal than... More

The old part of Driftwood is enchanting. You can leave your car parked, because everything is within walking distance. The restaurant is reasonably priced and the menu is well rounded. There is a ship wreck off the coast about 1/2 a mile or so. When the tide is low, You can see the mast of the ship. I've heard drivers... More

We spent 5 nights here, In a Parkside suite . It was very spacious and homey, with kitchen, living room, large bedroom and closets and 2 bathrooms and a large balcony that over looked the park and the ocean. The beach is beautiful with markers of where the turtles are nesting. I thought that was pretty special. The property is... More

I stayed at the Driftwood for four nights recently and was very happy with the resort. My room was on the small side but well furnished and comfortable. The two pools were nice along with the beach. The staff were pleasant and helpful. I had read reviews bemoaning the lack of parking but i had no trouble at any time... More

This is a very cool historic hotel. The lounge was fun and inviting the resort is constructed of driftwood gathered in the 1930's. There are bells and unique art through out. It's a warm and happy place to visit. Waldo had great vision. Try the wings at the bar and a cold beer. A great happy hour place to go... More

When you stay here, you must understand WHY you are staying here; it’s not for a plush bed and a 5-star room. The beds (even though new within the past year or so) are marginal at best, and the A/C in most rooms (4-story building anyway) is a loud window units. You stay here because it’s a piece of history... More

We had a cottage for a week here and LOVED it! We only had a few issues none were deal breakers. 1st being we tried to do laundry and was not able to do it due to the laundry room having operating hours.( I'm on vacation not a schedule!) 2nd being parking. We had to park in a 2nd lot... More

So glad you enjoyed your stay, the cottages are some of our nicest units. The parking is difficult, especially on the weekends when the restaurant is hosting live music, as both our guests and the local people enjoy it so much. Hope you didn't have too much trouble finding a place to park. We look forward to you coming back... More
