Went here by recommendation of a co-worker who goes every year with a big group. Great location and a very good price for a BIG room with full efficiency-style kitchen. The only drawback is that the pool area was really crowded and fairly noisy at all times. If I went again (which I definitely would), I'd get a beach-side room... more

I have been going to the Sands for over 15yrs and my Grandparents for around 40yrs. I love it ....love it ....love it!!! The rooms are very cozy and its great if you have little children because the hike to the pool is just outside your door. The rooms have looked the same ever since I have been going but... more

the rooms are in need of some fresh paint and new furniture. So close to the beach for such a small price. Still the same as I remember 30 years ago as a kid. Full Eat in Kitchen in the big rooms. Stove, Sink, Large Fridge, Coffee Maker, Microwave (didnt use it because ground plug had been sawed off to... more

I loved this hotel! Ive been going to Treasure Island and hopping around from motel to motel since 1989 so I know what is out there. My favorites are the mom and pop places right on the beach. I hate staying in fancy high rises at the beach. This motel was clean and adequate. The owner was super nice! I... more

I use to go to The Sands with my Grandparents every year - i have very fond memories of the place and still even have the old post cards from the 70's-the place looks exactly the same and I am super happy about that-Its a little depressing that The Surf was tore down -but anyone who has a problem with... more

I have been coming down to Treasure Island for 20+ years and when I'm not staying at the Timeshare I own, the SANDS is the place to stay! Excellent pool, sunsets on the beach, morning walks on the beach, couldn't ask for more. Rooms are available with stove, dishware, toaster, microwave, mini refridgerator. Perfect for the price :) more

We started going to the Sands ever since its sister motel The Surf was demolished in '03. Although the Sands doesn't have quite the great 50s design of the Surf, it is still a fantastic little motel that is truly a trip back in time. In the best possible way. The rooms are clean although a bit dated but who... more

My family and I have just completed a 7 night stay at the Sands of Tresure Island and are already making our plans to return next year. It had been many years since I stayed there as my family use to take me there every year, at the same time, meeting the same people. This year we took my 2... more

Great Place for the Value. We stayed in Room 211. There was Overlooked the Gulf. Large balcony. Rooms are dated but are HUGE!!! Large dressing area. Showers were good. Beds and pillows okay. Nice pool. 17 people in our party. Some had rooms on the lower level which they liked. The only downside was all the kids who left their... more

My family and I have been spending a week every summer at the Sands for the last 5 years and have made great memories there. It is an older motel and it hasn't had a lot of upgrades, but that is part of the charm of the place. It is definitely a comfortable place for a beach motel. It is... more
