My sister and I booked an online reservation for 2 nights at the Sunbay Motel in May 2012. We arrived at Sunbay around 7pm the night of our reservation. Exhausted from a long drive, the credit card machine was not working and the Motel clerk suggested we go and find an ATM to pay cash. It got worse, the comforter... More

I've had the pleasure to stay at Sunbay twice, both for two weeks at a time. I cannot tell you enough how impressive this place is. The key is their friendliness. They will go out of the way to make you comfortable.

We stay at this motel August 13 until 16 . This place is a small Motel with clean rooms and very good service. We had a room at the 2nt flor with new woodflor and upgrated bathroom. ( I dont like carpet at all ) Normaly 95% of the Motels are using carpet and most of the times stink The... More

Sunbay Motel is in a great location, right next to a beautiful bayou, surrounded by beautiful homes, and one block from the clean, architecturally interesting downtown. There is some pretty interesting sponge-diving culture in the area, and excellent food. It was listed in a reputable guidebook as a budget motel. When we arrived in the late afternoon, we found a... For the price, we should have known! Booked 4 nights and foolishly paid upfront. When we left after 2, no refund, just like others. No screen on bathroom window, traffic all hours of the night, cockroaches, mold...this place has it all!

We booked a two night stay at this hotel on line. What a mistake! We should have run the other way when we saw the trash and discarded furniture on the premises, but we were tired and stupidly decided not to look elsewhere. When we checked in the manager (owner?) required us to pay for two nights, even though we... More

My fiance Rob & I were on "vacation" and decided to take his motorcycle to Tarpon Springs, where we broke down...long story, don't ask!? Anyway, we'd planned to stay at a B&B or something along those lines when we realized we were going to have to pay R&B (?) Motorsports $300 to clean out the carbs... We stopped first at... More

We intended to stay two nights to bike ride on the Pinellas Trail. Our first negative indication was the discarded TV at curbside in front of one of the rooms as well as numerous discarded cigarette butts. The office was in total disarray although the Manager (owner) greeted us in a friendly manner. He showed us to our room which... More

This is the worst place we've ever stayed. Dirty, moldy, smelly. There were bare wires hanging from the ceiling which complimented the bare light bulb in the non-working ceiling fan. The bathroom window (there's no fan) opened onto and literally into the dumpster. Shower was absolutely disgusting. There was water seeping up through the bathroom floor. No heat (it was... More
