We stayed at the Hyatt for the front and back end of our trip to the Gulf in late June. The hotel is very nice and the staff was extremely friendly and accomodating. The only issue we had was getting to the hotel through the construction going on in the area. Be sure to follow the blue signs from the... more

I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights for a business conference. I did web registration and was able to quickly check-in at the web registration kiosk. The kiosk printed out a note that I had a package at the front desk which was nice. There is also a nice little gift shop that is open until about 10pm. My... more

I drove into Tampa from 1-4 and downtown Tampa and this hotel was quite difficult to find. If you are driving in from out of town, you should definately call to get precise instructions because there is A LOT of construction going on on the roads beside the hotel. There are several forks in the road and you must be... more

Whew...!! To think I almost stayed somewhere else due to some of the reviews I read on this site. I finally decided on the Grand Hyatt after 2 weeks of research, and am VERY pleased I did. From the moment I landed at the airport and was met with a courtesy shuttle, to my return trip, this hotel and staff... more

While it's convenient to the airport, the location is isolated on the shore of Old Tampa Bay. Great views from the 4th floor and higher. Even numbers for Bay view, odd numbers for Airport view. Rooms ending in 01, 02, 27, 50 are larger with more windows and, with the exception of 27, are at the ends of the hall.... more

I chose this hotel strictly on the good reviews from this website. I have to say that I am stunned at the good reviews compared to the actual quality of the hotel. This hotel is more like an upscale Hampton Inn. I have stayed at many a Hampton Inn, and when I am paying Hampton Inn prices, that is fine.... more

I was a bit leery of staying here after reading reviews complaining about the sheets and road construction. While the construction and road changes (from the GPS maps) can make finding the exit a bit difficult at first (and after dark), the sheets were very comfortable. The entire room, complete with giant windows overlooking a spectacular view of the bay,... more

We stayed at the Grand Hyatt for one night to recuperate after arriving on a redeye flight, while en route to Hyatt Coconut Plantation, Bonita Springs. We had booked a room in the tower for $97, via the hotel website. After reading some reviews I had decided to change to a Casita at check-in, but upon arrival we were told... more

This is a very pleasant hotel with decent amenities and services, however, there is NOTHING nearby. It is a large property on the bay and very convenient to the airport, but you must drive anywhere you might wish to go. As a previous review said, this is not a resort. There are two small pools and several other activities that... more

I was looking to go to Florida for a short getaway midweek for my birthday. After much research (most on this site) I settled on the Grand Hyatt. I had never been to Tampa, but we were going mainly to veg out and relax as opposed to sightsee. I was very happy with the hotel overall. The service was excellent,... more
