I don't want this review to be to harsh, because I think we were less satisfied due to the fact that we usually stay in 2 bedroom, Wyndham resorts on our trips. I thought it would be fun to stay at a KOA just for variety. The RV was smaller than I expected, but accommodating. We stayed in the 1... More

I stayed there for nine days in March, 2014. I had twenty-two college students with me (I'm the teacher) - we were in tents. I found the staff very accommodating and professional. They let us use the marina for some long term experiments, let us test build and remote operated vehicle's, etc. It was very safe, the staff were very... More

This KOA is just 14 Miles from Key West so it is very convenient. We had a beach site (man made beach) that was great for the view and shade. Get site 402 and pull straight in , not back in. Right across the highway is a nice restaurant, Mangrove Mamas. We really liked this KOA. Probably because we did... More

I have been to Sugarloaf Key three times now and am going back in August. Such a nice campground with lots to do. Close to shopping, Key West and has an onsite marina for bait. Clean restrooms and pool. Nice beach area.

Arrived with bumper to bumper traffic looking to relax. Very crowded camping park and most campers were well mannered. Horrible washrooms as the main washrooms were under construction. No extra cleanup or service. Disgusting.

I was part of a large group that took over the park for the weekend. I'm very impressed how clean and accommodating they are. The shower houses and restrooms were clean and stocked at all times. The beach is awesome. They offer kayak and SUP rentals that I will definitely take advantage of next time. Will definitely be going back... More

TIP #1: Always Confirm your online reservations with a real live human being! We Loved our stay at the Sugarloaf Key Florida KOA nestled by the Mangroves in our Aliner camper. But that's not where our original reservation placed us! Thanks to the Great Staff at KOA who helped get us into a space that was a bit more appropriate... More

Bathrooms still under construction. Other reviewers comment started in Jan . Should have been done in 2 weeks. Replacement bathrooms are filthy. I know you are borrowing but should be cleaned to KOA standards. We were at a state park a few days prior with volunteer staff who kept bathrooms immaculate for one third the price. The beach is terrible... More

Did an overnight pit stop to the Keys and rented a trailer at the Sugarloaf KOA. Nice clean accommodations and a quiet place. Although they did have entertainment and everything you need for an overnight or a week's stay.

We tent-camped for three nights and had a good experience. The campground is like a small village, especially when it's full, and there was some loud music in the evening (not surprising as March is spring break time)...but once quiet time rolled around we were pleasantly surprised how folks calmed down. The staff was friendly and helpful, the bathrooms and... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Open all year. Set between the crystal clear Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic Ocean, Sugarloaf Key/Key West KOA is a true beachfront resort. You'll find amenities and activities designed to please everyone in the family, local fishing and beachside fun at the campground's own water haven. Dine under swaying palm trees and sip frozen margaritas on the waterfront veranda of the campground's pub. Even your family pet will have fun at the pet playground specifically designed for them. Ever-appealing Key West lies just 14 miles south. Hop on the campground's shuttle to this funky and historic end of the road, dubbed "the Conch Republic." Walk the narrow streets showcasing Conch architecture-breezy wood houses with lush tropical gardens-once home to pirates, treasure hunters, sailors, novelists like Hemingway and songwriters like Buffett. End the day with a sunset at Mallory Pier. ... more   less
