My job sends me to Starke to work every now and then. I get the privilege to stay at Hampton Lake Bed and Breakfast while I am up there. I absolutely love staying there. The atmoshere is calm, quiet, and relaxing. Paula and staff are a delight to be around. I love meeting new people while staying there. The rooms... More

I was traveling on business and was overjoyed to find such a lovely place to stay that is a welcomed alternative to the typical hotel room....and, I had the place to myself! Paula was wonderful and having breakfast with her the morning I was there was a joy! When I am next in the Gainesville area, I plan to stay... More

We arrived and found nobody home. On the door was a note addressed to me to come in and make myself at home. The note told us to take the "Robin" room down the hall and to help ourselves to the hot homemade cookies on the counter of the breakfast bar. (They were still hot) A few hours later another... Not by the typical beaches and theme parks of Florida but doesn't matter. This place is a destination in itself and well worth the stop when traveling the 301. Well secluded. Great atmosphere and don't forget to watch the sunset on what seems to feel like your own private lake. Good for business and pleasure.

When we saw how nice situated the B&B was on its lake, with a dock to sit on or picnic on, we were disappointed that we had booked only one night. Innkeeper is very friendly and helpful. We definitely recommend this as a place to stay if you want to have a place to relax for part of the day(s).... More

First time at Hampton Lake B&B, and it won't be out last. Super quiet residence 7 miles south of Starke. Like visiting a favorite aunts' lake house, comfy and relaxing. We carried a picnic supper out to the dock for sunset. Lovely low key way to end a day of driving. We opted for the Johnson room, the one with... More

We traveled to Gainesville, Fla. for a football game and wanted to stay nearby. This bed and breakfast was absolutely perfect and only about 20 minutes from the university. The view of the lake was beautiful to look at as we sipped our morning coffee (yum!) on the porch. Breakfast was delicious both days we stayed there and I can't... More

A stay at the Hampton Lake Bed and Breakfast is like staying with family- family you enjoy and want to be with! Paula is a delightful hostess and will make you feel comfortable the moment you step into her spacious home. I stayed at the Hampton Lake while on business for a week in Starke. The house is located on... More

Lisa and Dave (who were working the weekend we went) were fantastic! The room we stayed in (Johnson Room) would have been great for one person, with the toilet being in the room proper along with the clawed foot bath, but it was still very nice. My wife and I have been to more than a handful of B&B's, and... More

We held our family reunion at Hampton Lake B&B. It offered something for everyone, ages 5 to 95. Lisa and David were our hosts for the weekend, and they were exceptional, attending to our every need and blending in like family. Beautiful rooms and a clear lake like those I remember from my childhood trips to Florida.
